I was thinking about this earlier, and I'm not totally sold that Crosby is out of it even if his regular season is over. If Tampa misses the playoffs and Pens finish higher than the Hawks or Kane slows down, Sid would still probably be the front runner. Hopefully the Canadian media can buy him some votes after he took turns torching Montreal and Toronto
Edit: and that's ignoring the fact that it's definitely possible for him to come back and play 5 or so games at the end of the year.
If Sid can be in good spirits, then what cause do I have to remain sad. As far as the hart; look at Kunitz and Dupuis stats. And as both Evgeni & Sid have been quoted on: this year isn't about individual awards .

I seem to recall that Tocchet had his jaw broken during a regular season game (91-92) against Chicago. This happened early in the game. He came back in the 3rd and either scored a goal or assisted in the Pens victory. I'm sure it played on the Hawk's collective psyche when the Finals came around.
Just extremely frustrating that we can't have Malkin and Sid in the lineup at the same time for an extended period of time.
And I know individual stats and awards aren't everything, but it is also frustrating that Sid was running away with the scoring title now for the second time, only to be hurt and will most likely lose it.
