Yeah true. It would be hard to play Moose with that bowl as well.

I put a kegerator on my registry :pop:

Does anyone have recommendations for a honeymoon registry? i.e. people can just make a donation to your honeymoon fund?

If it's in pittsburgh I could get you the info for the guys who did my, my brother in laws, and a good friend of ours wedding. It's right about $600 if I remember correctly.

PM sent thanks.

Seems like the cheaper ones we've found only have facebook pages for their service and no wedding pictures and its all pictures of them DJ'ing bars and stuff. Makes us kinda nervous.

A guy who DJs at the local bar (he's pretty good) quoted me last night at $600. I might switch to him, he's pretty fun.

Yeah, 400-600 is like our budget on a DJ. These people that charging 900 or more is crazy.

Ive decided in this process that I need to get a sweet camera or DJ equipment and go ham on the weekends

Go for it. It's a blast, no stress at all, no risk and tons of easy money.

Are there any pro photographers that actually enjoy weddings? Seems like they're universally despised.

I know some who do, or at least say they do. Weddings are a really different type of photography. It feels like 70% of the day there's really nothing going on and you're just taking photos because you have to be there. Then the other 30% of the day is so jam packed that you're paranoid about missing something. ;) Add in really annoying family/guests at the wedding that are trying so hard to get "the shot" that they don't give a second thought about stepping right in front of you to do so, and it can get super stressful.

Too clichéd. If you are going to go the humorous first song route, it's gotta be original.

in all seriousness what do you bros buy your groomsmen for gifts?

I was thinking of getting something they will actually use, like a cooler, 6 pack, and a cigar or something.

And when did u give them their gifts? bachelor party or rehearsal dinner?

You can actually set these up through many travel agencies. This is what we did; the agent that booked our trip to Italy and made all the reservations for our accommodations set up and managed the registry.

This was actually a really good thing for us. We ended up getting way more than we expected, and had a ton of cash left over after all our honeymoon expenses were paid for. In fact, we took that extra money and put it into a savings account and a few years later was part of the down payment on our first home.

Do. Not. Skimp. On. Photography.

We went with a young photog that quoted us way low. And we got what we paid for. You could be forgiven for thinking that we didn't actually have any guests at our reception; we got like five photos of our friends from the reception. All other shots that have guests in them, they're in the background of a picture of Wifey and me. And the kicker was the metadata on the jpg files. She brought a second photographer with her, and gave us copyright on the images..... but if you look at the metadata on the images, there are two separate gaps between consecutively numbered photos from the same camera that are ~25 minutes and ~45 minutes respectively.

I don't know if they perhaps swapped cameras while one ate, or what the deal was..... the woman never responded to my emails or phone calls. I seriously thought she forgot to send us like half the pictures she took that night. Couldn't be happier with the shots from before, during and immediately after the ceremony, but we got better pics of the reception from our friends.

Got mine flasks made out of "unbreakable" glass that were engraved along with a Batman shot glass and a pint of their favorite kind of liquor.

Some good stuff here. http://www.gunthergifts.com/

Edit: I gave them the gifts at the rehearsal dinner each with a short typed out blurb about how much I appreciated each of them being in the wedding. Each little blurb was different. The wife was upset I made them typed but I hate my handwriting.

When you do the registry for the honeymoon, did your guests do that as wedding gift or in addition to the registry at the shopping stores or what?

Anyone ever do groupon for a trip somewhere? The fiance is starting to get groupon deals for trips to bahamas and stuff for the months right after our wedding and we're considering, but have some reservations about doing that. Some of the stipulations on them and things of that nature.
