Square Cafe looks pretty decent. Does it get crazy on the weekends? I dont want to wait an hour for breakfast with a 21 month old

in a word, yes.

but it really depends on when you go. if you get there before 830 or 9 its usually decent. anything after that is crazy. if its a nice day, they do have outside seating, so that helps keep the wait down.

I can't figure out why this thing doesn't come closer to town during lunch.

I think it has to do with city of pgh zoning laws against food trucks...?

NOLA in Market Square is wonderful.

That it is.

I'd recommend reservations. I got a group of 11 going Saturday before the Clapton show and when I called, they were pretty close to being booked.

NOLA is not inexpensive for dinner...

Not many places that are both inexpensive and not burger joints. Braddock's in the Renaissance is ok and not particularly pricey, but not the best place I ever ate. If you like Thai, Lemongrass Cafe is pretty good. If you are interested in appetizers/tapas, Bossa Nova has a small menu and is a great place for a drink but is a hike, Olive or Twist is a great little spot that is nearby.

If burgers are ok... Winghart's could ruin you for any other burger. The guy is a butcher & Shipwreck hand selects the booze. Nothing else like it.

This has been probably been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I went to the Penn Ave. Fish Company downtown for dinner on Saturday and thought it was fantastic. I got grilled cobia and my wife got several sushi roles. The quality of the fish was outstanding in everything we had. I'd say the main entrees are a little overpriced, but the sushi is a bit of a bargain, so it kind of evens out.

Just remembered this too...

I know this has been mentioned, but I'd add another thumbs up for the Meat and Potatoes brunch. We showed up without reservations (probably 5 minutes before opening) and were apparently pretty lucky to get a seat at the bar.

I know this is more of a real restaurant thread, by I was wondering if anyone has tried the new flat bread sandwich from Wendy's? Or the new McDonalds wrap thingy?

McDonald's wrap is essentially a snack wrap just with more chicken. Never tried the Wendy's flatbread. I am addicted to their burgers... Ugh

I've always found Burger King to have the superior fast food burger.

I'm at Ike's Place in San Francisco, waiting for my "Kryptonite" sandwich. Walked two miles to get here, will need the energy to get back.

I don't know how difference the pricing is here and at the Mortons in DC but my bill for two there was about $240.

Considering it's a la carte and the steak is $50 itself...that's a great deal.
