Crazy. Quentin should face a long suspension, though we know that's not happening.

The upside for the Sox is that they won't have many games to close for him once they start playing better teams.

They have a history, its not hard to argue that Greinke was throwing at him intentionally.

It was 2-1 in the bottom of the six, on a 3-2 count. I think it's pretty hard to argue that he was throwing at him intentionally. At least if we bring logic into the discussion.

This. Sure, he waited six pitches until the count was full?

If the alleged comments were actually not made immediately afterwards, then sure logically you could argue that. I don't believe that you've actually followed the story if you aren't even allowing for the possibility that Greinke threw at him.

The facts are that he hit him then said something to him and Quentin charged. If we knew what was said, i'm guessing it would be pretty clear whether he threw at him or not.

It makes way more sense that Grienke was not throwing at him and made a face or gesture that was something like "cry moar" since Quentin complains about getting hit so often than it does that Grienke was actually throwing at him and making sure he knew as much by saying something to him afterwards.

One of them has documented mental issues, the other gets hit all the time and has never done anything. I'm siding with Quentin.

Greinke's social anxiety disorder contributed to him hitting Quentin? Hello left field.

MLB Strikezone is pretty good. Like the Redzone for baseball.

:pop: Is it time to put the NL East crown up for grabs or are the Nationals still clearly the best team?

The Marlins have a legitimate shot of finishing with the worst record in major league history. They are truly a wretched, wretched team

I was talking to my buddy at the game yesterday about this. I'm guessing it was when he had the pressure to give up no more than 2 runs lifted off of him.

Also, since the Braves had won the first two games of the series and I was going yesterday, I was fully expecting the game to go the other way. I guess Gio has been staying under the radar and not PEDing it up lately.

When he went to a team where he gets a wide strike zone from umpires. His nibbling on the corners now results in strikes.

That was last year. Check out where the Braves, Cubs and Pirates are. Maholm's a command/control pitcher who relies on painting corners because he can't blow hitters away. Pitchers on bad teams don't get those calls. He's now pitching on a team where pitchers not only get the corners of the strike zone but inches off the plate. If you think it's a coincidence that Maholm's pitching better on a team where pitchers get more strikes than anyone else, you probably believe that A-Rod only used steroids when he was on the Rangers.
