I did chuckle at the jersey. But, someone actually spent money on that...jersey customization is not cheap. It's hard to comprehend.

I never really care to much for this Jersey Foul stuff. Doesn't make you any more/less of a fan. Was messing around with a buddy from school telling him his jersey looked like crap, he said it was a 30$ ebay jersey and that he ends up just spilling beer on them and stuff anyways so he isn't going to buy 150$+ real one. The more I think about it the more I agree. Who cares if some little kid puts his real name on the back of a jersey, it's a kid.

If people want to have fun with it, have fun. I have a 1979 Pens custom Lemieux Jersey, because I really liked those Jerseys, and wanted it to say Lemieux for everything he's done for the organization? Foul? I don't care, its what I wanted to have. So I don't know why everyone else gets so upset over this.

Yeah, I don't see any of these as jersey fouls, except for the Gnochar or Maklin ones of course. I like this thread though, some interesting jerseys for sure.

I went to game two of Pens/Flyers series in 2000, in Philly - saw a woman wearing a Barnaby Flyers jersey.

I think wearing a Kennedy jersey would be a jersey foul. An unacceptable one. I'm pro jersey foul though. :pop:

Out of curiosity.... how many of you posting in this thread are men? I have never heard any man have this type of discussion about fashion before.

If I were to draw a Venn Diagram of Hockey Fans and Metrosexuals prior to viewing this thread, I wouldn't have had any overlap of those two circles. Now I realize there are at least 3 or 4.....assuming they are all men....and assuming they are factually metrosexuals.

I am guessing there is some other explanation.

The worst ever has to be the Crosby gold jerseys. Why put a guy on the back of a jersey who never worn it?

Those ones kind of bother me, but the worst or the Malkby or Crokin jerseys...bonus negative points if they use the early 90s home/aways to really mix it up.

Never understood the "Mascot" jerseys. I often see people in Columbus sporting "Stinger" jerseys. I guess when you have a revolving door, its hard to get attached to a specific player. But in Pittsburgh, it is a punishable offense to wear an Iceburgh jersey or one with your own name and number. Its called respect.
By the way, I still wear my #18, Francois LeRoux jersey.

I put an 'O' where the 'C' should be on my Mario jersey...'O' for Owner!
Would that be considered a faux pas??

The best part about it was, when anyone would ask what it stood for, I'd reply...Owwwwns...Owwwwns. (Denis Lemieux)

After some jagoff (read: me) drunkly burnt a cigarette hole in my 400 dollar legit everything Malkin jersey (thankfully at the bottom and not noticable to most), I started going the borntrade route. I shake my head when I see the jerseys with the blatantly wrong fonts, or other super terrible things, but I no longer care if someone has a jersey that you can tell is "close but not quite right."

9 out of 10 times that I'm wearing a jersey there is alcohol and large crowds of people involved, its just not worth it to spend hundreds of dollars to have them get beer and nacho cheese and ranch and whatever else all over them.

Edit: Mascot it up all you want, but I'm not a fan of putting your own name and number on it. And I'm its worse if you give yourself 66/87/99 or a "C"

The real victim in all of this is Iceburgh. Poor guy is getting his number dragged through the mud.

"Pretty poor taste" and "Phyler fans" would be a double entendre!

I saw what was the worst foul I have ever seen in regards to a jersey. Not that any of it really bothers me, but since I read this thread and I saw this guy last night. A guy had a Clemente 21 Pens Jersey on. Next are we going to retire the #42 on hockey jerseys in memory of Jackie Robinson...
