Dupuis is pricing his way out of Pittsburgh. I mean I know he plays with Sid, but my god he is on a 40+ goal pace.

Dollar for dollar, pound for pound, I think Dupuis was a better aquisition than Marian Hossa...in hindsight, of course.
Great human bieng. Pay this guy what he deserves and for at lease 4 years. Oh and Happy Birthday #9.

Oh yea, I almost forgot. Count me in as a member of the PDAS.

He's got more goals and points than Hossa does this year. And yeah, I realize Hossa has been hurt, but Dupuis also has more points per game and goals per game. Go Dupuis! Looking back, it's amazing how well that trade worked out.

PDAS got a mention from Craig Custance, a national NHL beat writer. :pop:

Yea, and Hossa being hurt is also being part of the equasion. He seems to be more injury prone than Dupuis. And you didn't hear that from me. Don't want anyone calling me a jinx.

I, and this organization, am a big believer in treating your players right when they treat you right. Dupuis has played a big part of this team for peanuts in recent years, I wouldn't mind if we heaped on a few extra bucks as a thank you and then took it year by year thereafter.

:thumb: I agree with that price and value/reward for a couple of years more of Dupuis. He's earned it and I don't think he's slowing down at 34 either.

Love the GIF of Duper celebrating his goal with Morrow and Kennedy. I wonder what it’s like to get that kind of joy from one’s work and to be able to express it so openly and in such an unrestrained manner. Now, if I did that at work...

It's funny, whenever we travel to the Southeast, there are always more Pens fans than home fans. Maybe the NHL should consider moving some of those teams around :pop:

On more than one occasion i have heard posts on this board that multipal sport personallities have used in their own shows. Its almost like they are directly quoting some people on this board to get their opinions. That sunday sports showdown that was on, it would happen all the time. It was way to close at times for it to be a coincidence.

Its funny how things work out. Craig Custance used to cover the Thrashers. I guess he is a fan from way back.
Btw, it would be an honor to be a member of the PDAS.

Sign me up!

I don't use twitter very often, almost never actually, but I am following the PDAS since this morning.

Been a fan of Dupuis since we got him, even have a baby blue Duper jersey. (Does that make me a bandwagon Duper fan AND a bandwagon Pens fan? :pop: )

There is just no way he stays. I want him to stay. I PRAY HE STAYS. But it's just not realistic.

There will be teams giving im more years for way more money. He's fifth in the league in goals for crying out loud! Also, he had a career year previous to this year as well so it's not just a flash in the pan. The guy is money and he will get his. Probably 3-4 years at 3 to 4.5 million per season will be out there waiting for him if he so chooses.

To be perfectly honest, he would be beyond dumb to take what the Pens could give him. He's currently paid 1.5 million. That is beyond absurd. Pens can't give him much with Letang, Malkin, Kunitz and Iginla all coming up.

This is probably his first and only chance to land a big contract, so as I said, can't blame him if he goes after the money. I don't think, however, that anyone is going to offer him 4 million, let alone 4.5.

it's a little unlikely, but he's got 2 straight years of high-level production and it's trending upwards. i've seen bigger contract stretches than dupuis getting a ray whitney-caliber deal.

Dupuis has been playing great and yeah I would think he would be asking for quite a raise. He's 34 though. Do we pay it and lose someone else or let him walk? Shero has some tough decisions to make at the end of this year.

That's the thing, we don't pay it. They literally can't pay it. Dupuis is a luxury now. He is an absurd luxury at 1.5 million. And you don't pay someone like him when you need to pay guys like Letang, Malkin and Kuntiz. And to even a lesser extent, Iginla.
