Two pretty decent signings recently.

Midfield Mike Seamon played for the Seattle Sounders the last 3 seasons and was drafted 27th overall in 2010.

Striker Jhonny Arteaga played for New York Red Bulls last season, was the backup to Thierry Henry, and was the league's leading scorer in 2011.

The Riverhounds' move into the city will come with a change of colors, I'm told. The team will announce in March that it's switching from its old blue uniforms to — what else? — black and gold with blue trim.

While on the topic, as of Thursday morning, only 129 tickets remained for the April 13 inaugural game at Highmark Stadium. And the rest of the schedule is roughly 60 percent sold.

I plan to try and catch a few games. Will tickets be reasonably priced? I don't really know much about their league.

$9.50 to stand in the supporters section and between $10 and $12 in the normal seating areas.

Compared to other teams in the league it is pretty cheap.

What kind of competition do they play? They aren't in the same league as the Columbus Crew are they?

Columbus Crew are in MLS, so not the same league. Riverhounds are in USLPRO, so they would be below MLS. In baseball terms I'd put it at AA or AAA. There also is another league called the NASL that is arguably better than USLPRO but it is pretty close and MLS teams do have reserve teams.

Not sure if you're a big follower of EPL, but there is a tournament similar to FA Cup that takes place in the US called the US Open Cup. So there is a good chance they'll play in a meaningful game or two against a MLS team. Theoretically, if the Hounds won the Open Cup they'd be automatically qualified to make the CONCAF Champions League and if they somehow won that they'd qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup and play the winner of the UEFA Champions League. So they could actually play against Manchester United or Barcelona etc. But you'd have a better chance at winning the Powerball five times than that ever happening. It's nice to think about though.

Saturday was awesome (minus the final score)... Tailgating and marching to the stadium was awesome.

I was at the game Saturday as well...sweet stadium and good atmosphere. Was also impressed that (contrary to speculation) there were absolutely no american football marks visible at all. Does anyone know if their games are/will be streamed?

Also, the next two games are pretty much sellouts. I never thought in my life that I'd see a Riverhounds game sellout. Crazy.
