Great. Now the gubmint's jack-booted soldiers are gonna swoop in and tell me I can't fire my pistols at eagle nests while playing "God Bless the USA" at full volume and "saluting" Ronald Wilson Reagan's portrait in the nude.

How do they know it's the first one in 200 years? They've been keeping score for that long? I think not. But I guess good for our eagle 'friends'.

has anyone noticed an abundance of birds of prey dead along the roads the past few weeks? perhaps they were sacrificing themselves for the bald-eagle hatchling savior child

Very cool story. For anyone that admires the majestic beauty of the American Bald Eagle, I highly advise never traveling to the Inside Passage of Alaska. Specifically, Ketchikan.

I've seen these guys flying around the boston bridge quite a few times. On a similar note, my camp on the river up north has an Eagle nest right down the way, see mom, dad, and the premature fly by twice a day, it's really spectacular.

They are so common there, they essentially fill the role of seagulls. They are everywhere...picking through trash, hanging around you if you are eating something, etc etc.

That being said, I also saw many badass moments of bald eagles when I was in Alaska after that (hunting for prey, etc), so I'm just referring to the ones that are actually living in the town itself. And anywhere else, bald eagles are majestic like that. But since that was my initial eagle impression, it was a bit jarring.

The turkey population has grown exponentially and now is their breeding season. Same as deer, except there are just a **** ton of them around. Mac5155 will try to eliminate 2 of them next weekend.
