Hey, check out this one. He doesn't play very fast or does any major tricks here, but this is why I love listening to him. Beatles' Yesterday and look at how expressive and just damn pretty his playing is. He makes it look and sound effortless, and yet that kind of playing just grabs a listenener. Not only a great technician, which is what a lot of people look at, but he can really play from his heart and that's probably his best asset.

I don't care for that station. I'm sure there's some overlap...but aren't they like all about Wilco and bands like that?

I think there are some silly clunkers on that album, but Hurly Burly. Harpoon Fever, Mister Jung Stuffed and El Azteca are such awesome songs.

I'd say if I were to make a Top 100 list, the entries would, on average, be about 20 years older, and there'd only be about ... I don't know, 10 albums from this century. And I'm certainly not one of those sentimental fools that think everything used to be so much better than today. Well, except music, har de har har.

It would be interesting to compile such a list every week and see how much it fluctuates and how many albums would be on every list.

i pretty much went through everything on my ipod compiling this list. trying to give everything one more attentive listen before i made the list. I tried going through some stuff that i wasn't really familiar with before, like some solo lou reed albums and the joy division albums....that's why i stress favorite and potential movement, because your familiarity with stuff is a huge factor.

I've been trying to list albums, and I listed like 89 off the top of my head, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 were either superchunk, rocket from the crypt, archers of loaf, or a side project of one of those 3 bands. Its a pretty boring list.

Well...atleast that's only a third.

On a somewhat related note, does anyone rate the songs on their Ipod, and if so, what exact purpose does that serve?

I rate some of them. I put my top rated on my iPod on random when I run. During a run, I need the extra motivation that only certain songs can give me.
