No starting RB. Let one of their top CBs go w/o even making an offer while re-signing a terrible one. And so on down the line... Makes me a sad panda even thinking about it... We've been kind of spoiled for awhile by this team.

this is exactly how I feel. I am not to happy about having a franchise QB in his prime and because the Rooney's are the Rooney's they got him no help and actually made the team worse then last year.

Normally, i wouldn't give this any thought but Mark Madden keeps saying he has it on good authority that Haley is so rough to work with that players and coaches are like rats abandoning a sinking ship. The reason this gives me pause is because of Haley's track record. Everyone seems to hate this guy wherever he goes.

As for things that aren't based in rumors, i can't stand the way this team is being run. I get that the Steelers have to be bad now, but it should have never come to this. They keep signing guys who are old or local but they let all their good, young players walk. Just doesn't make sense. Maybe these players don't wanna sign and the Steelers are trying and they are just saying no but it really does seem, from the surface anyways, that the Steelers have no intention of giving what their franchise QB needs to succeed.

-Really don't like the last couple of Drafts
-Really don't like the coach. Speaks in empty cliches all day long. Might as well not even speak.
-Really don't like attitude of the team. More clowns in that locker room than good guys who know how to win.
-Really don't like restructuring contracts endlessly and refusing to just accept reality and rebuild completely.

The Steelers matched the Pats offer sheet per a number of sources.

Blah...all he does is fumble. I'd still rather have the pick.

Can't say i'm surprised. Wouldn't have been surprised if they took the pick either. I don't think that retaining him affects their record this season.

Pick was the better option imo, but it's not a bad move.

I don't have the salary cap breakdown in front of me, but 3 of the bigger deals (BRoeth, Troy and Taylor) will likely be dealt with after this season. BRoeth will probably get an extension, allowing the team to lower his cap hit early on. Troy and Taylor become UFAs after the 2014 season, so they're probably going to either get extensions or get released.

It's easy to say "rebuild completely", but that's what the Raiders are doing now and they have something like $45M in dead money counting against the 2013 cap. That's not a good thing. What happened is the Steelers drafted exceptionally well for a long stretch of years. The Steelers won two titles with those players and played for a third. Then all those guys got old and expensive at the same time.

Beyond talks from what I read. Close to finalizing a deal. Maybe today. He's coming for Ben!

Tyler Eifert, Cornelius Washington, Ryan Swope. We all know they're drafting Ray Graham, Mike Mauti and Rontez Miles from Cal-U PA. Silly Kiper.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 2m
Steelers gave DT Steve McLendon signed a 3-yr deal with max value of $7.25 mil, including $1.675 million guaranteed. $5 mil in first two yrs

I guess there are no nose tackles with Pittsburgh roots available instead.

At an average of $2.4 million per season, that isnt bad for your starting NT. Plus, if they would have lost McClendon, Ta'amu would have been the only NT they had. Not that the Steelers did much good this off-season, but this was probably their best move to date.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/ ... 3-playoffs

3. Pittsburgh Steelers
2013 playoff odds: 47.9%
Random schedule odds: 39.9%
Difference: +8.0%

Like the Browns, the Steelers have the good fortune of playing the soft AFC East, and their toughest matchups will also be road games against the Patriots and Packers. There has been a lot of offseason movement from the Steel City, but one thing remains constant: Ben Roethlisberger. When healthy, Big Ben once again put up an extremely efficient season, and thanks to the fact that the Steelers play the AFC's No. 3 seeds instead of No. 1 seeds (sorry, Baltimore), the Steelers have the best chance of winning the AFC North in 2013.

Poll on ESPN right now: Is it fair for the Super Bowl champion Ravens to play their opener on the road due to a scheduling conflict with the Orioles?

Are you **** kidding me? Winning the SB should impact whether you open the season at home or on the road? This should be a poll where it's like 90-10 where Maryland is the outlier, but it's only 54-46.

If the Steelers won the super bowl and had to start on the road people here would say its a conspiracy and the league is out to get the steelers.
