When the Boston Bruins host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, it appears that forward Milan Lucic could be watching the game from the press box as a healthy scratch.
On Thursday at practice, Lucic was wearing a green jersey and skated on the fifth line with the other two presumed Boston scratches, Kaspars Daugavins and Jay Pandolfo.
During Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Sabres, Lucic had no shots or hits in just under 11 minutes of ice time while playing on the fourth line.
"You saw where he was this morning, and it indicates he may not play tomorrow," explained Bruins head coach Claude Julien after practice. "I haven't decided that yet."
Lucic has six goals and 18 assists in 41 games this season.
If he is in fact scratched, we all know the reason: Crankshaft!
