Lucic may be healthy scratch for tomorrow's Pens game

When the Boston Bruins host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, it appears that forward Milan Lucic could be watching the game from the press box as a healthy scratch.

On Thursday at practice, Lucic was wearing a green jersey and skated on the fifth line with the other two presumed Boston scratches, Kaspars Daugavins and Jay Pandolfo.

During Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Sabres, Lucic had no shots or hits in just under 11 minutes of ice time while playing on the fourth line.

"You saw where he was this morning, and it indicates he may not play tomorrow," explained Bruins head coach Claude Julien after practice. "I haven't decided that yet."

Lucic has six goals and 18 assists in 41 games this season.

If he is in fact scratched, we all know the reason: Crankshaft!

Coach Julien play mind games.

Shero recalls MacIntyre.

Horrible playing Lucic back in tomorrow to counter Steve McKnuckles.

When asked if he thought watching his team play from the press box would help:

“We’ll see. Time will tell,” Lucic said. “I hope it does help me and I think right now it’s just getting that hunger and emotion back in the game and trying to figure out how to play with it again to where it was and where it can be at such a high level. I think if I figure that out, everything else will take care of itself.”

Yikes. Guy actually seems relieved to be sitting...

I thought a couple people were in disagreement with me a few weeks ago that Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton do nothing but tell inside jokes to each other on the bench, squirt each other with water bottles and speak in a secret language that only they understand (it's pig latin, everyone understands it except Seidenberg...)

Last night, I think Gregory Campbell was up on the top line, Nathan Horton was out there with the handless Daniel Paille...they've been horrendous this year...Horton got the "nasty" knocked out of "nasty Nate" and Lucic really needs to be provoked to do anything anymore, he doesn't just attack people like he did in juniors where he was a big guy...

He has no confidence and has been playing like it. I thought he was overpaid before this season started and haven't seen anything to change my mind.

every Boston "fan" I've ever had the "pleasure" of talking hockey with considered this guy their favorite "superstar".

He's the perfect superstar for that fanbase: streaky and overrated.

If Lucic plays on the fourth line will he have to start fighting fourth line guys his size?
