With 2 goals tonight in a pivotal game vs the Sharks

Not as good as it looks, as Detroit has 2 games in hand, and the tie breaker as it stands. Really, Columbus only has a two point lead while spotting Detroit two extra games. They need serious help from Detroit's opponents, and 3 of Detroit's last 4 games are at home... I'm not giving up hope for the Jackets, and tonights win was huge, but they are still a lonnnng shot to make it.

So, I'm just throwing this out there. Minnesota is free falling. It is very possible that they could be the team that falls out.
Minnesota: LA, Edmonton, at Colorado -- 51
Lumbus: at Dallas, Nashville -- 51
Dallas: at SJ, Lumbus, Detroit -- 48
Detroit: Phoenix, LA, Nashville, at Dallas -- 48
Phoenix: at Detroit, SJ, Colorado, at Anaheim -- 46

I agree about Minnesota's recent play, but even they have a game in hand, and more ROWs, against Columbus. Realistically, the Jackets need to win out, and still need help to make the playoffs. It's possible, but with only 2 games left for them, it's just not in their hands. The only plus is that half of Detroit's remaining games are against other teams struggling to make it. If Detroit, Dallas, and Phoenix can split regulation victories, and Columbus takes care of business against Dallas, they just may make it. There's and awful lot of scenarios left for the final two playoff spots in the west...

Honestly, I can see Minnesota going 1-2, Columbus going 2-0, Dallas going 2-1, Detroit going 1-3, and Phoenix going 2-2. Detroit's road is definitely the toughest with 3 games against playoff or fighting for playoff teams.
