So I had two funny things happen recently that both reminded me of this thread.

First, it was Bone Crackins Wednesday last week. And every Bone Crackins day - without fail - I go to Jersey Mike's for a regular #13, white, Mike's Way with hots. I've gone there so often in the past four years that they don't even ask me what I want any more, they just make the sandwich. So I thought it was funny how much I've been complaining about the 'moaners' not trying new food; we're all creatures of habit on some level.

Second, yesterday I went to a Korean market near our house. I bought about $20 worth of vegetables that I had never tasted before in my life (never even heard of some of them), and nearly squealed with excitement when I got to the meat department and say they had trotters from both pigs and cows, beef tripe and tendon. And then in the fish department, they had full (head-on) U-15 shrimp, and whole monkfish, which means you can get them to butcher it for you and harvest the liver.... which is absofreakinglutely delicious. So I have that going for me.

http://www.pgplate.com/events/339-hal-b-klein

that was a dinner co prepared by a number of the cities top chefs and served at a nearby place called salt of the earth last night.

i have no idea what the price was, but im sure i could get a porterhouse and probably sides for what it cost.

all those pictures look really cool if not exactly appetizing. i wouldnt mind trying any of those dishes at all but id never risk all the money it costs to have a meal i end up hating.
