The Cooke drama?

Postby pekkasteele on Tue Apr 23, 2013 3:57 am

Did anything special happen with Cooke? And after what I saw on Twitter, Neil was doing some stupid stuff?

Everything special happens with Cooke :D

He got shoved around but he didn't have to fight, no reason to since he didn't do anything wrong. Assisted on the TK goal that put the Sens to bed. The Senators did exactly what they shouldn't have done -- worry about Cooke rather than winning the game until it was too late.

Neil was just being his knuckle dragging self. Tried roughing up Orpik, MacIntyre stepped in. Neil wasn't having that...
Neil also tried to plaster Despres a bit high it looked like and blew his helmet off, but as far as we know Despres was fine.

Anytime you see "The Sun" and any city in Canada, you can stop reading there. Joke reporting for semi-literate drama addicts

I couldn't tell if it was a joke of a periodical or if it was just a Canadian periodical. I knew it was bad though and have followed the "if you see Sun stop reading" rule.

Neil being stupid of the Sens had nothing to do with Cooke. Neil always does stupid things during every game he plays.

Yep, they wanted the web traffic/Deadspin post/retweets, etc. and they got them. Nothing to see here.

The real story is how the Sens didn't get even a point from this game against the Pens JV squad.

Maybe the Sens can put up that mural again since the last time they ever were close to winning a cup was like 7 years ago.

James Neil scores 40 goals last year, back to doing nothing this year.

So I thought to myself, this Cooke circus is entertaining but something is missing. Turns out it was just missing a homoerotic tale of unrequited love. Now it is perfect.

I think LA Noire's sequel(I have no knowledge that there would ever be a sequel) should give the Melnyk Cooke saga a nod.

So, with Karlsson set to play tonight, thus returning VERY much sooner than originally diagnosed, should Shero open an forensic inquisition to see if he was actually even injured on that play? One really has to wonder if this was all a big conspiracy by a rogue band of other owners to destroy Matt Cooke and the Pen's Stanley Cup dream.

If I were Matt, I'd have taken over a media scrum and pointedly told everyone to get the hell off of my s*** . I wonder how he's able to avoid doing that.
