This would also be used when someone is having a child born or is away for other family reasons. Not as meaningful in a long baseball season, but there are other times it could be used.

We may need to place some sort of beer related wager on this.

The Upton side of that wager has to be pretty happy with how close those non OBP numbers are. When his OBP normalizes, his run numbers are going to go through the roof in that offense.

they need to move him down the lineup, that's crazy to bat him leadoff.

Nah, I don't think. It was always going to be Upton with the edge everywhere but potentially runs and then would his bad OBP be decent enough that the difference there isn't enough to give Choo the overall edge.

And since it was a fantasy ranking wager, Choo is #8 and Upton is #196. I don't think there's anything to be happy with there.

I don't care what they do with him, but there is no reason to mess with the lineup right now. They were world beaters with their top 2 hitting combined below .200 and would still be going with it if Heyward didn't have the appendectomy. They're an organization with enough common sense to know that players of their calibre don't keep playing like that. They certainly don't make drastic changes when they're 2 games ahead of the rest of the Majors and two all-stars start the first couple weeks of a season cold.

I don't care about this all that much, but do you honestly think Upton isn't going to get a whole lot better and that Choo isn't going to get a whole lot worse?

I don't really care that much either. I think they'll both be a lot closer to their career numbers than they currently are. That means regression for Choo and improvement for Upton. Still, with that being said, their career numbers are close enough for purposes of this wager that (guessing) if they both have career average numbers from here out this start will be enough to swing fantasy ranking Choo's way.

I think if they play the way they have the rest of their careers, Upton's numbers will be better than they've been the past several seasons. Obviously Choo's regression is a sure thing. Upton will likely improve. If he hits .250 on the season, he's gonna put up big numbers.

I'm not worried.
But we based this on fantasy ranking? I thought it was who would win the most categories.

Yeah, since I reread what Kraftster wrote, overall ranking makes sense.

I don't think its anything other than a friendly wager. I don't think I there is really anything on the line. If Kraftster is wrong, he'll probably string together a series of trades to get Upton.

I was under the impression that we were supposed to have unlimited DL. I now have 6 people hurt and the limit appears to be 5. Are we able to increase the DL number?

So I realize that I have an empty spot on my roster and add Torii Hunter and his game has already started haha. So now I actually ahve to drop someone to pick someone else up. Can I get amnesty on that player so I can pick him up after I drop Hunter?
