Have fun at CBP. Maybe I'll try to score some tickets

thanks, I'll be sitting upstairs in the outfield....got some cheapies off ebay last month for $9 each....though I'll be hanging at the center field bar most of the game :)

Tickets are much easier to get there now than they were 5 years ago or so. I got SRO tickets to a game a while back (not Pirates) and enjoyed it quite a bit, although it helped I didn't have to be actually watching the game to enjoy it.

Nope, batting .200 this year I believe total against LHP. The Pirates need to ding Halladay early, that's usually when teams have been getting him the last year or so.

Yeah, there have been many empty seats the second half of last year/beginning of this year at their CBP. Eventually, they'll realize you can't charge World Series winning team prices for a 3rd/4th place team. I even saw some online coupons for games this year.

I remember how the Philly fans would deride Pirates fans for not showing up to PNC even though the Pirates have sucked for two decades, but the Phillies have one bad season and now have tons of empty seats. I guess the Phans aren't as hard core as they say.

Maybe they'll be there next week after the Flyers season is over.

Missed having you around this weekend to praise the Pirates and pat them gently on the head for winning the series against ATL. Then, you could continue on your merry way to a division title while we continue to wallow around .500

Haha. I couldn't even keep up with the games on the island. I forgot it was a 4 game series and yesterday I checked friday-sunday and i was like "effing swept?!?!?!" Either way though, I was so mad that I was gone for that series, i'm never available for ATL at Pittsburgh...and now its even harder to catch being in DC so weekend series are huge for me. Fortunately they're in DC more often so I can catch games pretty frequently.

Stolmy Pimentel with another strong AA start, but a few walks:
6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 8 K

His season ERA is now 0.39.

Curious if he'll get a call up to AAA anytime soon as Indy has a few guys already in their rotation (Cole, Irwin, Waldrop, Oliver, Johnson, Cumpton).

I'd guess they look at moves like that in May or June...plenty of time for things like that to sort themselves out.

To put it nicely, they aren't demanding to be called up anytime soon.

Cole's control sucks right now...11BB in 16.1 IP. Guys aren't getting many hits off him, but his control just isn't there. No one should be clamoring for him to be up with the big club until he starts pitching better.

Taillon is pitching well in AA. 2-1, 2.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 23 K in 24 IP.

Ehh, I wouldn't go that far with Taillon. He's doing fine in AA. But, I agree with you on Cole...he definitely needs more time in AAA.

Looks like May 10th will be D-Day for Jonathan Sanchez. It can't come soon enough:

Bill Brink @ PG wrote:Francisco Liriano is scheduled for three more rehabilitation starts, Clint Hurdle said today. He will throw five innings or 80 pitches Thursday, six innings or 90 pitches Tuesday and 100 pitches May 5. That would line him up to join the Pirates May 10.

He's not able to get deep into games due to the control issues.

Jones chases a pitch in the dirt, and then looks at a 3rd strike.
