I don't see how there's any way anyone can defend the woo after Sabres Fan's story.

I'm going to the game Saturday and I'm not looking forward to it the way I should be. It's just not the same anymore. Last game I was at, I nearly got into a fight because I spoke up about a drunk guy that was cutting the bathroom line.

Was just about to post the same thing. That seems very excessive. I hope that's an isolated incident, but from what I gather it's not...maybe invite all the woo-ers on a bus trip to a Pens/Philly game in Philly...? The problem would probably just work itself out...

We, uh, we fixed the glitch...

I agree. At the Igloo, our STH group used to attend almost every game. Now, we re lucky is the group is together once a year. Ticket prices have nearly doubled, as well as gas prices. The whole crowd at the CEC is just "different."

Exactly. It's not meant to add to the atmosphere and fun. Its meant to annoy. Which is crap.

Ovechkin passion? Did they have teeth? Were they jumping off the glass? Were their hands held towards the blade of a stick that was apparently warm so they could warm their hands?

That story makes me feel embarrassed to be a penguins fan. And I've been a fan for 22 years. Unfortunately when a team gets popular and wins, it attracts people who don't share a older fans passion. It's sad really and im very sorry Sabre Fan.

It's obnoxious. The people doing it are obnoxious. The people doing it know they are being obnoxious. It may it very hard to enjoy listening to last night's game on the radio. They don't care. You can't reason with someone that thinks this way. For everything good this country or this world can come up with, some selfish little moron can come up with a way to exploit it. "I want to express myself", so who cares if I disrupt 10 or 50 or 100 or 1000 people getting what I want. Me, Me , meeeeee.

Yes, I'm one of those "Get off my lawn" guys, after all, after all, I'm over 40...

Early on in the season... Consol is too quiet, too many people in suits at the game.

Now... People are making too much noise.

There's a difference between making noise (e.g. cheering) and wooing in the face of opposing fans/in order to annoy the hell out of people.

I can't believe I am wasting the time to address this, but... as MRandall25 pointed out, anyone lamenting crowd noise was talking about noise to support the team, not noise for the sake of noise. If you can't see the difference... discussion over, there is no point in further debate. Noise that annoys the opposition, fans of the home team, and the home team itself helps no one but the insecure few people making the noise in the hope that any attention is good attention.

Ossa, you don't care that the ownership, who provides you with the Student Rush, the players, and the coaches really dislike it?

I'd like Shero to trade your bunch to Winnipeg for 9 white t-shirts, a beer-soaked toque, and petrified nachos. And get Kim Clackson to "deliver" the news to you. Don't you think it can't happen.

This is why i have stopped going to Pens games. Have been screamed at by STH for being too loud and i wasn't wooing. I was just cheering. Was threatened last game by the guy in front of me and he had to scream in my face, "I have been a season ticket holder for 4 years!"

Not going back. Screw that crowd.

Well....

As one of the people who complains a lot about the "woo", the way this thread is going and the bile and hate and some stupidity coming out, I think I will never complain about the noise at games ever again. also when I go ill make sure I sit there and behave like a good boy who apparently doesn't want to make anyone mad.
