Check out the funny audience participation to that first Kiryu video I posted above. I think anyone into power metal or stuff like Dragonforce should eat this stuff up, because the music really is terrific.

Has anyone gone to a Ticketmaster 'paperless ticket' event before, particularly @ Consol? Heading to the Black Keys show on Tuesday, and it is a paperless ticket event. This is what the Ticketmaster paperless ticket FAQ says:

What is Credit Card Entry/Paperless Ticketing?

When you go paperless (available on select events), you get through the gate with two things you're carrying around already: your photo ID and your credit card. No paper tickets means no forgetting them on the kitchen counter!

At the gate they'll swipe the credit card you used for purchase (you won't be charged again), check your ID, and hand you a slip of paper with your seat location on it. Easy.

What happens at the gate?

It's pretty much the same as picking up tickets at a movie theater kiosk or picking up your boarding pass at an airport kiosk. All it takes is a credit card swipe (you won't be charged again) and a quick photo ID check to admit you and your party! You'll get a slip of paper with your seat locations on it so you know where you're going.

The above leads me to believe that I just go straight to any entrance gate, like I would if I have a ticket, and they do the card swipe/ID check right there, vice going to Will Call to do the card swipe ID/check. Anyone confirm? I've emailed/called Consol but their customer service is very unresponsive. With the added security at Consol recently, I'd expect this paperless ticket deal to add a decent amount to entry time.

FC44. Blast this over and over into a person's window. After 10 of these, they'll be ready to give up money. Or kill you. So wear a vest.

I love this stuff. I'd probably put one of these Jap bands against any of the great power metal bands from europe. Forget the costumes. This is a nice live video with great sound that showcases how great this stuff is. Theatrical in appearance, but all metal. These guys are very talented.

I'm about half way through reading "Solid Foundation: An Oral History of Reggae." It's almost overwhelming, in terms of detail....I feel like I would have to read it again in 10 years, once I have accumulated enough knowledge (to piece together the singers and players).

Next up are the Peter Hook biography and a history of Rough Trade records.

I have in the past and decided to pick up some recently.....So not really on any consistent basis.

I might have mentioned it in this thread, but I saw Legs McNeil speak back in December.
It was entertaining, but he seemed like a real jerk.

Sarcastic, you may like this band. And I was shocked to learn they're from 5 miles down the road in New Brighton, PA.

These guys are the epitome of consistently great blackened death metal. Every album but their first has been nothing but solid.

I'm going to do more listening. I see they've been together for a while. When I think of black metal, I naturally gravitate toward scandinavian bands, but these guys do sound good. Name seems familiar, yet I don't remember their music.

Teenage FC did the whole Goth industrial thing in HS. Looking back it was very embarrassing.
