That work?

Morrow to 3rd, Kunitz to 2nd and dupuis to 1st.

Or we could slot everyone in their natural position and go with:

Kunitz-Sid-Iginla
Morrow-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Sutter-Dupuis

This makes the most sense. Gives Crosby an elite winger and Kunitz can be a grinding third wheel. Provides Malkin's line with a gritty veteran, looked good as a line the one game this was tried. Dupuis gives 3rd line speed and a scoring threat, solid 3rd line.

Agree with those lines. Sucks for Duper but he's versatile and will go all out one first or third line.

Or the 4th like in 2009

I'm OK with the loss. This team has nothing to play for anymore, so maybe they're taking an unintended breather. Malkin looked great. I agree with above sentiment that he and Iggy don't work well. I would rather probably play Iggy on the third with Sutter or Jokinen, then see if he has any quick chemistry with Sid, but even then I still want Dupuis there half the time. We can basically roll 3 scoring lines, so I'm not worried.

I didn't read through the thread cause I am lazy but I am sure it was mentioned here. Any reason why HCDB had Iggy playing LW? Was this an experement? If so I hope it finally ends. The only time he should play the left side is on the left half wall on the power play.

Based on what I've seen this season, Dupuis has outplayed Iginla. Especially at even strength. I would not re-sign Iginla over him especially when Dupuis is younger and will come cheaper. I also wouldn't drop Dupuis down the lineup to be replaced by Iginla. I know Iginla is a future hall of famer. I get it. He just looks too slow to work as effectively as Dupuis on this team right now 5 on 5. Love him and his shot on the power player. He has a great shot and a right handed shot like his is what this power play has needed for years. Other than that I haven't seen much of anything he does better than Dupuis. There is a reason Dupuis has more even strength goals than almost everyone else the last two years. Yes Crosby helped this year, but he got the job done last year without him.

Kunitz Crosby Dupuis
Morrow Malkin Neal
Cooke Jokinen Iginla
Bennett Sutter Kennedy

Once they get ahead if they want to move Sutter up to help out defensively, I think they can do that. They could also switch Bennett and Cooke if they wanted. Although I kind of like Cooke as the guy to go win the puck in the corner on that line.

I know they won't bench both Adams and Glass, but I think they should. Kunitz, Dupuis, Cooke, Jokinen, Sutter, and Crosby can all kill penalties. It's not like Adams and Glass have been penalty killing phenoms this year. Those two struggle to carry the puck up the ice let alone create anything offensively. There isn't another team in the league that can compete with that lineup offensively. It would be a matchup nightmare for them.

I also hope the standing remain as they are right now. Islanders have very few players with any playoff experience. I think the Pens could take advantage of that and jump on them early and bury them quickly.

Dupuis is a keeper. Even if he starts losing offense 2 or 3 years from now, with his defensive smarts and wheels, he'll be a valuable player for a veeeeery long time.

You know, our line situation could be way worse...

We could still have Eric Tangradi in our top 6

Or Zach Boychuk, if you even remember him.

So the 4th line is Bennett-Jokinen-Kennedy? I like that. Put in Glass for Bennett if we need some muscle. Kennedy has improved a lot over this season. Power plays:

Kunitz-Crosby-Neal-Letang-Malkin

Morrow-Sutter-Iginla-Martin-Niskanen

That's two very solid units without even using Jokinen, who could come in for key face-offs.

I think he's just flamboyant. His home country isn't really that progressive.

His name is Reza, correct? I think it's a Persian name. Many Persian names are lyrical and cool, imo.

Lol, Iran cuts your private parts and hands off if you're caught with another man.

Yeah, truth. I was commenting on just his name. My opinion on the Persian language has nothing to do with the progressiveness (or clear lack thereof) of the society. "Not progressive" is a serious understatement, for sure.

Isn't Reza one of the names of the mutants in TMNT2: Secret of the Ooze?
