Pseudo sellout Streak...Anyone need 45 together?

Postby C4 Row E on Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:06 am

For all those that do not think they've raised prices to an insane level, take a look at Ticketmaster. You can go right now and get a block of 45 tickets together in section 120. All for the bargain price of $230.25 each for the 1st playoff game. Giving student rush tickets away does not count for a sellout streak. If they would have been reasonable with these prices in the first place, they would not have to give them away.

A sell out is a sell out regardless of the price charged.

It's not so much the viewpoint as it is the comfort level in the upper bowl. You're stacked right against each other and literally feel like you're suspended directly over the ice. Only from what I've heard about the lower bowl is that visibility sucks. Either way, the new arena is a cookie cutter POS with no personality like Mellon, as is most everything "new" these days

Sorry, but I disagree. As a student-rusher of the dark ages, I can say that student rush is a great program that helps breed fans. I can't tell you how many friends I have that couldn't have cared less about hockey, but after student rushing turned into huge fans -- several of whom now attend regularly and are on the season ticket holder waiting list. It's not a fluff program, it's a program designed to create and sustain fans -- and it certainly does not taint the sellout streak in the least, considering many of the current season ticket holders were student rushers once upon a time.

Well there isnt 45 together at this point and my assumption would be they will sell...Considering Upper Bowl on Ticket Exchange is averaging $100-120 a game
If you look at other playoff teams the Pens are well within pricing of others.

Thats it? After TE fees, thats a minimal gain for ticket holders. I'll wait a round or 2 to try to price gouge people...maybe i'll just Idoit's list them.

My price is $125. I have mine listed to make $5 per ticket on Exchange. I can't sell them. How on Earth are they going to get $70 more than what STH can list them for?

Personally, that's why I love the upper bowl. The view is great and I'm 5'7" with seats on the aisle so it works out great. But I do prefer Mellon, nothing will ever beat section D or the balconies on the ends.

120 is lower bowl and they are good seats. These may be the players wives seats? I beleive that they usually sit in 120. Perhaps they have some other arrangement for the playoffs. This to me would explain the block of 45 together.

They make more money by selling expensive tickets to non-students and getting $25/ticket for the remainder of the seats.

Too bad they are not playing Ottawa. Canadian fanatics would gobble up those remaining tix at any price. Isles fans? I don't think so.

Do they have Student Rush at playoff games? What will be the price?

I don't know how much Leaf tickets were selling for on ticketmaster (or how many were made available), but they were sold out last week.

Someone is selling a pair of tickets for both games on kijiji for a reasonable $3,000 for the 4 tickets in total (not very good seats). I say the reasonable price because there is a bit of sticker shock if you check stubhub. The cheapest Balcony standing room is $200-300. On the other end, there are seats available for $88,000 a ticket (that is not a typo).

Yea, those games I ended up behind a pole seeing 20% of the ice or all the games so far away from the ice can barely see sure had a lot of personality.

I generally get cheapest seats because its what I can afford and they've always been really good at Consol.......... terrible at Mellon

Those could be visiting players family/wives seats that were reserved and are now being opened back up.

I don't understand your point. Are you saying that they are charging too much and will not sell out? If that is the case, check back tomorrow.... most seats are already gone...

My issue is that I am on the season ticket waiting list, paid the cost to be on it and got no preference at all. They went on sale to the general public. Sad
