Lulz, Tebow released. Jets do it at the beginning of the week to maximize the coverage and after the draft to minimize the opportunities for someone to sign him. Sucks to be him, but since he annoys me, I don't feel bad for him.

I think I would respect the dude if he just agreed to change positions...not that anyone who has played any sport above the high school level should care if they have my respect or not.

Yup. He could probably have some success in some kind of hybrid position, but he steadfastly refuses to be anything but a QB.

I'm assuming they tried to trade him at the draft and couldn't. I doubt they'd purposely wait until the Monday after the draft unless they were pure evil.

Is that true? I don't follow him really but I remember hearing he WANTED to become a better qb and was working to that end.

The thing about that is he's an awful QB. Even if he improved by 100% he still would barely be a back up in the NFL. He's awful.

He has said that he believes he is an NFL QB. He's either gonna have to give up on the NFL, the QB, or the idea of playing football.

I liked the comment at the end of the Tebow release article...

Mark Sanchez threw a going away party for Tebow...
But it was intercepted and ran back for a touchdown.

I equate the Tebow hate to the Crosby hate outside of Pittsburgh in that it's all media driven. I don't mind Tebow and the guy has never been anything but humble and respectful of teammates yet everyone hates him because the media covers his bowel movements as breaking news. I think he could be 'okay' as a qb in the right system sort of how the Redskins tailored their system to RGIII (although RGIII is far and away a better QB). Just my .02

one simple pass on against a dumpsterfire secondary does not an nfl quarterback make.

Remember that time Tebow didn't start over Mark Sanchez...or his backup.

Tebow's next stop (I'll bet) is Canada. He would be great in Canada. Wider field just suites his style perfectly. Plus I'm guessing that the Canadiens (whichever teams he might sign with) would absolutely love him.

Still have to throw the ball in the CFL, but yeah, he can get a job there most likely.

Honestly, that play says more about John Fox and Demaryius Thomas than anything. Tebow still sucks regardless of how good or bad the Steelers are.

I don't follow college sports at all and I don't follow the NFL.

However.... It seems all Tebow has done is win. Even if his teams obviously won in spite of him, is there really no team in the nfl desperate enough for a name at QB to give him a shot?

Tebow's career record as a QB is 8-6. If the entire argument is that QB wins actually matters, that isn't much to go on right there. Craig Krenzel had a winning record as a QB despite a sub-50% completion percentage, 3-6 TD/INT ratio and 5.7 YPA. No one wanted him. "All (Player X) does is win" is garbage logic that says a player is carried by everyone else around him. People said that about Vince Young when Tennessee won games in spite of his horrible numbers. Once the cast around him dropped off he stopped winning. People said that about Kordell Stewart. Once his supporting cast faded he stopped winning. Mark Sanchez just won games when he had a great defense and running game. The defense and running game have tailed off and he's about to be released or benched and will probably be Arizona's QB by Week 1 of the 2014 season at the latest. There is no single player with the metaphysical winners sauce that allows them to consistently "just win".

Any team that wanted Tebow last year could have had him. Two teams wanted him, and Tebow chose to go to the bigger media market than the team where he had a chance to actually play. Any team that wanted him could have had him this offseason for a 7th round draft pick. No one wanted him.

I'm not saying a team is going to win a SB with Tebow at the helm but I could definitely see a decent team missing a qb going into the playoffs with him there.

No decent team would want him, unless you really believe he has magical powers.
