That sounds obvious and all, but that would make me feel really good about this team.

I almost expect a letdown in the opening minutes of game two. The key will be holding the game scoreless until both teams have their rythem, then letting the talent difference take over.

After Iginla's shot Nabokov was so dazed he thought he was at Melon Arena.

I thought Eaton and Martin played very well tonight too. Great overall effort really.

I have a bad feeling that Nealarovsky wont be returning in the near future.

I really didn't agree with Peeair's insistence that Nabby was effected by that shot. Even if that puck hadn't hit him, he didn't stand a chance on any of those opportunities.
Bennett - roof
Letang - roof xbar
First Duper, mad scramble
second duper sick reception of pass/shot with significant motion to Nabby's left taking him to open net. Nabby has to play that as a tip opportunity.

No chance on any of those goals.

In case you weren't at the game, Justin Downs (intermission report host) called Tanner Glass' goal "a big goal"... the only goal he called "big". 5th goal in a 5-0 win.

Yep :thumb:

Melon vs Mellon, is joke. But, yes I agree on the goals.

He did take his next shift, so hopefully it's not too bad.

That was my only concern about the Pens having to play this pile of human feces in the playoffs. They will try to take a bunch of players with them when they lose. This isn't the 2011 team, though. The current Islanders are not built for this type of game. This type of stuff will motivate the Pens even more. Even without Neal, they will sweep this series.

I don't think Neal's injury is too awful (considering the injuries we've had recently). He played another shift after he was turned into the boards, and he seemed to be okay.Wouldn't be surprised to see him out a few games, but I really don't think it's going to keep him out that long.

Jokinen taken out was just a precaution, I think. That really didn't seem bad at all. Was more leg-on-ankle than knee-on-knee, and he didn't seem to be in much pain after the fact.

Here's to hoping.

Jokinen got off on his own power. To me, it's fortunate that play wasn't more of a Ovie on Gonchar type deal.

Neal will be back by game 4 at the latest.

That is my optimistic prediction

So long as they don't use words like reevaluated or phrases like no timetable he will be fine.

I was surprised Nabok didn't get a concussion. Iginla crushed it.

FWIW Dejan K. tweeted that Jussi seemed to be moving and walking OK when he went down the hallway. And Neal did try to take a shift. I suppose adrenalin can mask pain, though. Hopefully neither will be out too long. :(

Angers me that the Islanders have to do this cheap and dirty crap rather than just try to play hockey. The Pens outclassed them in every way.

With the shutout, hopefully we won't have to hear anymore about Flower being lit up last year in the first round. That is so old already.

I'm in that camp. I'm sure others who have had badly sprained ankles during sports can attest to being able to play a bit more after the injury before realizing that you can't go on. Hope it's not high ankle.

Agree except for the 1st goal, which was weak. No reason for him to be down so early there. That said, that was a sick shot.
