To me, the craziest bit of this story is that the girls were apparently allowed to watch TV and the news and such and so knew that their disappearances were still a big deal ten years on.
Dispatcher: OK, and what's your address?
Caller: 2207 Seymour Avenue.
Dispatcher: 2207 Seymour. Looks like you're calling me from 2210.
"huh?" would be my thought as well. like...i just got rescued from being kidnapped for a decade and i really want to tackle this issue of me being 100 feet away from where you think i am.
I'm guessing a there are legit reasons for asking this. For example, they don't want to send assets to a prank call, so they will verify that the person is calling about a different address than what shows up on the ID. Probably doesn't do any good for the kidnap victim to know that, of course.
