This move actually makes sense puck possession wise now that I think about it. In the defensive zone they will be able to get possession along the boards then when they get in the offensive zone they rotate to get in shooting position.

Bylsma has that first line exactly the way I would. And is refusing to break it up, exactly what I would do. I want him fired 2 years ago, but I don't disagree with what he's doing with the lines.

Funny how there was all the clamoring for Sid to have a world class wing, and now there are two of them on this team and he doesn't play with either of them.

Neither of them have played as well as the guys he is playing with. Not sure why people would be calling for him to get better wings and then want his wings downgraded.

While many fans have been clamoring for Sid to get an elite winger, Sid has never expressed an interest in changing his linemates. And even if he did wish for that, I don’t think he would turn his back on Kunitz or Dupuis. Some people seem to think that Bylsma is keeping the line intact in order to please Sid, but I don’t think that is necessarily the case. Sid is a team first kind of guy and has said that he will play with whomever Bylsma chooses as his linemates. He may prefer the current setup, but I don’t think he would throw a hissy fit if some changes were made, and I think Bylsma knows that.

Yeah I don't understand this either. Sid prefers Duper and Kunitz. Malkin's line has been producing fine. Offense from the top 2 lines is not the problem.

But puck possession is a problem. They're simply not generating the momentum you'd expect from these players.

It's a multi-tiered problem and juggling the lines is not going to fix everything. But you put players in their best position to succeed, and I don't think Blysma has been doing that.

Btw, if Blysma is coaching based on Sid's "preference," then that's part of the problem.

Sid with Morrow and Iginla would be a dominant 1st line. Malkin(at wing I believe) with Jokinen(at center) and Neal would be another dominant 2nd line. This would drop Kunitz to the Third line(which would never happen in the real world) with Dupuis at center(which he seemed to love in the short time DB tried it) and probably Bennett for the other wing. The fourth would be Glass - Sutter - Cooke.

That would be three amazing lines and a solid 4th.

Oh I promise you it has been discussed...probably via text..or email.

Shero did not bring in Iginla to play out of position. He also didn't bring in Iginla to never see time with Crosby. You can bet that has been talked about

If Iginla doesn't see much time on Sid's line (and it's looking like he won't) then I think that the trade was redundant at best.

At this point, I totally agree.

Kunitz-Sid-Dupuis
Morrow-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Sutter-Bennett/Jokinen
Adams-Vitale-Kennedy

I actually like these lines better.

Put Iginla on the right side with Crosby and he looks good again, who'd have thunk it?

I kinda think Iginla looks lost a lot of the time when he's on the ice. Especially in the defensive zone, he does a lot of standing around and spinning in a circle. It's almost like he doesn't have the wheels to get to people so he doesn't do it... he's a monster for the PP from that left circle but other than that I'm not impressed so far.

The beauty of it is, we don't need Iggy to be the hall of fame, taking over games player that he had to be in Calgary. We need him to chip in (he is), score some big PP goals (he will), and do his thing on the bench and in the dressing room.

Plus if he is kept with Sid moving forward, how can he not start to light it up?

Even if you say all Iggy's done is contribute in the room and on the power play, that's still a huge part of postseason success, and that alone makes him a good value in the playoffs considering what Shero paid. I hope they keep him on the Right Wing though, Sid can play with either him or Kunitz, but Kunitz really pulled that Malkin line together yesterday.

Iggy is the new Dustin Jeffery? Contributes but not very noticeable I guess.

Ignila is putting up points. He is an extremely valuable addition to the team. Did you see him and Crosby planning on the bench in between shifts. They are going to be dangerous.

Kunitz - Geno - Neal was the best line in hockey last season.

It's gonna get real

I think it was fine that the top two lines were already producing, but the line switch last night made everything look even more scary.

I'm very happeh Iginla is now back to his main position.

I didn't think Kunitz would change Malkin, and maybe it didn't, but Malkin looked less idiotic last night, so have at it.
