Guess Mindy was doing well enough that it got renewed. Same with Suburgatory. Kind of surprised by both.

Touch, though, got cancelled. Which was almost to be expected with how 24-lite it had become.

A few shows that I liked were cancelled, but most I expected.

Rules of Engagement and 1600 Penn I fully expected.

I was upset Go On was cancelled, I actually liked that show and thought it had a few seasons in it. It seems NBC can't ever make up it's mind on shows and just cancels them en mass each year.

I was shocked, but happy Community is back. I thought it had one of it's better seasons this year.

I'm hoping big time the Neighbors come back. That is the only other show I watch that is in limbo.

Everything else either had it's series finale or is coming back.

After Tony Scott's death and then Antoine Fuqua saying the movie couldnt get off the ground, I didn't think I'd ever see Jack again.

After last month's Boston manhunt I thought a tv show or movie similar to 24, but told through the media, would be kind of an interesting concept. It would be similar to the Apollo 13 episode of From the Earth to the Moon.

I was thinking the same thing. There is so much anticipation built up for this that Id be shocked if their servers didn't crash.

I think Fox moved it's time slot around a bunch. They would air some episodes, then move it to another night and time mid season, so it never got good ratings. Critically it did well IIRC when it was on the air, it just never had a strong viewership.

I think some of the comedy was ahead of it's time as well. It just doesn't seem like a show that would be shown on one of the big 4 networks, and would probably have fit better on a Comedy Central or FX type network.

Arrested Development was "Firefly-ed" to a degree (damn you Fox on both accounts). Poor marketing. Commercials that made it look like a generic sitcom. Screwing with the timeslot. AD also premiered at a time when DVRs first starting catching on. One website theorized that they target audience for AD, smarter individuals looking for a smart comedy, were the most likely to be early adopters of DVRs, which further hurt the ratings.

There are 4 shows I can remember just off the top of my head that were cancelled, only to either a) come back or b) made into a movie due to fan outburst:

1) Firefly
2) Family Guy
3) FutureRama
4) Arrested Development

All FOX shows.

Jericho got a second season after being cancelled.

Edit: The main difference between Jericho and the four Fox shows is that Jericho should have just stayed cancelled. Futurama has been a hit for Comedy Central. Nothing really needs to be said about Family Guy or AD. Serenity was a box office flop but the series as a whole has great DVD/BR sales and continues to have a growing fan base.

I'm disappointed Castle got renewed. I think I'll drop it anyway. I guess the big thing is going to be Beckett's offer for a new job and how that's going to complicate their relationship. Boo-hoo. Like I care about seeing more love drama between those two. Took the moron 2 years to get the girl and now they're going back to the same old BS.

Jericho would have been ok for a 2nd season if they didn't have to cram the entire season plot down into 7 episodes. Dang writers' strike.

Speaking of the strike - anyone know if the 8 eps of 24 that were already in the can at that point were used for the following season or tossed aside? For some reason I recall them starting fresh but it's been a number of years.
