That ended a few years ago when the Ducks and the Wings were in Game 6 and Pronger and Niedermayer both dropped their gloves and started punching the unsuspecting Hossa and Datsuyk. They got ZILCH for that despite the rulebook calling for a 1 game suspension if they were given majors, which they weren't in one of of the worst officiating jobs I have seen in the NHL. Ducks lost Game 7 anyway but it was obvious then that the NHL would bend every rule possible because suspending Pronger and Niedermayer for a Game 7 would have created tons of howling by Anaheim fans and a few other cro-magnons.

Once the Pens got a lead they were content to let Ottawa have the puck in the neutral zone and do very little.

That was solid effort from the Pens, though OTT didn't provide much of a challenge.
I feel like I've seen this movie before.

Just caught a glimpse on HNIC.

Puck was in the Pens zone for 24 minutes.
Puck was in the Sens zone for 18 minutes.

I think that's what it said. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, that's not our game, it's usually the opposite.

I'll take that kind of win every game. Vokoun looked a little skittish early but the Pens managed to beat Anderson like a rented mule and then smooth-out the team D that looked shaky in the 1st.

Having a pulverizing PP right now is going to discourage OTT from trying to get that physical and fiesty. Pens responded well tonight to those attempts by not losing their heads and put together a solid WIN.

Yeah, I think that is correct. They also made a good point about how fast the pens recover after making a mistake, showing a letang turnover, and then letang and others closing so quickly on the senator with the puck...

IIRC the Pens were leading in zone time going into the 3rd.

Great interview with Malkin and Engblom.

"Why is the PP so good?"
(incredulous) "Well, because we have...Crosby...Iginla...Letang...Kuny..."
"And Malkin?"
"Yes. Malkin too. Yes."
