If it was Drafty we'd have a 10,000 word dissertation about why Adams should be in there.

I miss Draftnik.

I for one do not. Yeah he had great hockey knowledge but his chosen form of delivery was belittling, condescending, and all around rude. I don't miss him.

Paraphrasing one Mark Recchi, Draftnik would stick to his opinion until you pried it from his cold, dead hands.

Well, you see Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United did not do it this way, therefore I do not think the Penguins would have a chance

Nothing wrong with being belittling and condescending. That's how you get stuff done.

My only thought right now is why Disco can't leave the obvious line combinations intact so that they players get some god damn chemistry going...

And take another drink when he'd mention how he had Canadian satellite service in Western PA. (Hence he could watch junior hockey as well as the NHL games)

I always thought he brought an interesting viewpoint, and I could see how some of you feel he was abrasive. I rarely get into debates on the Internet - especially about hockey - so I brushed off most of his condescension. But yes, he was all of that and more.

What are the obvious line combinations? It seems our best option would be:

Kunitz - Crosby - Dupuis
Kunitz - Malkin - Neal
Kunitz - Sutter - Iginla
Kunitz - Kunitz - Kunitz

You really think this team lacks chemistry? I don't see it being a problem. Not at all.

Really! Why can't Bylsma see it?? A 14/14/14 line would be UNSTOPPABLE!

HAHAHAHA I was going to bring up the Satelite relay thing. Have you seen Batman and Robin. It was like that.

Who cares whether the lines are 9-87-12 and 14-71-18 or 9-87-14 and 18-71-12? If they go out and do their job, and the Pens are winning, why the **** does it matter?

People complain about Iginla on Malkin's wing apparently don't realize that Iginla was still putting up points there. They also fail to notice that James Neal played a much more disciplined game with Iginla as opposed to Kunitz.

It's really not that big of a deal. You're making a mountain range out of an anthill.

I actually think with Malkin starting to look like the confident Malkin again, we may see a better Iggy 5 on 5 with him.

I'm curious to see how they look together tonight. I have a good feeling.

Side note i was watching the new In The Room with Trade Wings, when all the new players got there, it was pretty funny, Bylsma reaction to meeting Murray for the first time,"That's a big man" was great

Confidence is not what Malkin added. You don't turn the puck over to someone standing in the the middle of your own blue line on a cross rink pass when you lack confidence. Malkin was careless last series, it seemed like his head is more clear in game 1.

I was at game 1 and with about 12 minutes to go and up 3-1 the Sens really had us bottled up in our zone. I wondered what was going on when I noticed that 18-71-12 was back. I am surprised we didn't give a goal to make it 3-2. I was really puzzled by the move. This combination does not matter when we are controlling the puck in the opposition's zone, but when were are trying to get out of our zone and in transition, players in new positions are a liabillity. I was ready to have HCDBs head if we had been socred upon do to this. It was almost like he was saying "well we are up by 2, now let me show you how my initial instincts were right all along on these lines". That line struggled the balance of the game, I am very surprised that he would choose to start today's game in this manner.

Perhaps he will switch back after the first goal resulting in this line not being able to get the puck out of our zone.
