Are we using previous BAC standards or the new ones recommended by the NTSB?

sam adam's summer ale isn't half bad. I was at wegman's and wanted a 12 pack of a summery beer that was in cans and wasn't a shandy... it was the only thing I came up with. It's light, crisp, lemony. Pretty darn good.

I agree, although I'm not much for drinking from the can.

The Ten Fidy stout that I really like is in a can. I'll pour it into a glass to drink, but the can is doing work. I've heard this from several people who know way more about beer than me.

In related news, I do not have Prince Albert in a can.

Summer ale is good. I am enjoying an anchor summer beer. Not really a fan of most summer beers, but I like the less over fruity ones. Can't stomach most shandys.

Yeah, it makes sense. Cans don't let in any air or light, two enemies of beer. Bottling is just an easier, cheaper option for micros.

For those hop heads in Pittsburgh, House of 1000 Beers has Heady Topper cans right now. Also, for those into sours, the House has 3 Fonteinen for the first time. $30 for 375 ML bottle for the Kriek or Gueuze. Will probably get one of them in the next couple months if they last.

Tried 4 Hands' Pyrus saison and Russian River Damnation tonight. The 4 Hands saison was pedestrian -- too wheaty. The Damnation was very solid. A BSPA with some saison characteristics.

Also tried a sip of Firestone Walker Double Jack Imp IPA tonight. That is a pretty impressively balanced ipa for the hops punch it packs.

The Pere Jacques was really good. Quite smooth. Great flavor. Easy drinking. Went nicely with chocolate.

Nothing wrong with that. Flying Dog makes some really good beers. That's definitely a good one to branch out with. Some good ones to try as "intros" are Blue Point toasted lager, Brooklyn Lager.

Hardly piss water... malty sweetness with a large hop finish. Medium body hides the 8.3% ABV. Definitely complex, so if you like 'IPA' for the hops, its just not for you.

My grandma had a Rivertowne Babbling Blonde that was sitting in her fridge, so of course it ended up in mine.

Not bad. Not too hoppy. A little heady, slightly more carbonated than I was expecting. Can't really nail down the taste though.
