Pens better close this out soon

Postby MarioLives on Tue May 21, 2013 10:33 pm

Looks like the bruins will sweep. Pens are going to need some rest to battle those big defensemen....

I thought the rangers would put up a better battle. I did not know the bruins were this good.

It's just as much that the Rangers are that bad. Their PP is 0 since Groundhog Day, and Henrik's the only Ranger showing up at all.

I like their chances against multiple rookie defensemen (if that holds up).

They're not. There was clear evidence tonight that Lundqvist is hurt, and that may have been going on prior to this game. Boston is certainly not good enough that the additional time off will compensate for the overconfidence they gain from easily dispatching the Rangers. The only thing keeping the Pens from the SCF at this point is themselves, and if they work for it, and shutter their own overconfidence and expectations, they have nothing to fear from Boston. One game at a time.

Should the Bruins sweep and win Game 1 of the CFs, it will be because they had so much time to rest. Should they lose Game 1, it will be because they had too much time to rest. Hockey 101.

Pens need to close this out VERY soon. They have a tilt next November 14th against the Washington Capitals in the Verizon Center, and you know that place is going to be rocking like crazy. We need every bit of rest we can get.

The extra time off they had really gave them some needed rest and Claude needed time to dissect the other team's attack. These Bruins are very impressive.

The extra time off they had really took them out of their game. Claude had all that time to prepare and still the other team is dominating. Talk about a playoff hangover.

I was gonna wait to post this until it was determined that the ECF would be the Pens vs the Bruins, but since this thred appeared I figured why wait. If this happens then it will be Sid & company vs those "big d-men" of the Bruins, especially Chara. I'll let y'all figure out who is Sid and who is Chara in this clip. :)

During the game last night, they said that both Seidenberg and Redden are close to returning.

Shad has inside info on next years schedule already. Must be neighbors with a guy who is very close with Crosby's doctor

You will hear both sides of this:

1) The team with the longer resting period between series is going to be RUSTY for game 1. They'll take 2-3 periods to find their stride. Big advantage to the other team that has been playing more recently; they get to keep momentum rolling and find a groove while the other team has to return to playoff action after a "long" layoff.

2) The team with the longer resting period is going to benefit from having more time off to heal, recover, and prepare.
