Agreed.

all his movies seem to be like that. Maybe he should just release trailers, because they always make his movies look better than they are.

I've only been noticing it more recently. Five Year Engagement was another one that was way too long. I don't think I've felt that way about Anchorman, 40 year old virgin, knocked up, superbad, step brothers, pineapple express.

Watched Moonraker earlier. Only one disc left in the first half of the Bond set. Gonna try to fit it in tomorrow afternoon. :thumb:

Yeah, Shannon is awesome, and probably less known than he should be. This movie should change that.

I hate the "I'm IRRRON MAAAAN!!!! OH NOES MY SUIT DOESNT WORK 75% OF THE MOVIE!!! LOOK AT MY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!! WATCH ME NOT BE IRON MAN LOLOLOL"

put him in the god damn suit for more than 2½ minutes and destroy something with his mouth shut. yes i'm shallow, but theres more than enough screen time to not have part of his squishy human flesh exposed for at least 1 awesome thing.

Watched promised land, pretty terrible propaganda piece, matt Damon is supposed to be the best at his job in the gas industry, but he's actually ridiculously poor at it, didn't make any sense. It's pretty bad if gas companies actually do what happened in the movie, but after it was over I actually wanted to do more harm to our planet because it was the biggest waste of 2 hours I've had in a while

The Great Gatsby: I have mixed feelings about the movie. I really did not like the first 50 minutes or so. I think the director went for a lot of unnecessary gimmicks - slow motion shots, rap music (I really did not care for Jay Z). I thought the opulence of 1920's could have been shown with far more grace and far more effectively, without dumbing it down.

After the movie got to the real substance of the story (the Gatsby's insecurity), the gimmicks mostly stopped, and the quality picked up - mainly because DiCaprio really knows how to act. I also thought the guy playing Tom Buchanan was very good toward the end of the movie, and Tobey Maguire was a decent narrator.

Well, ultimately, I guess for me it was A-rated acting (maybe B for the lady who played Daisy), in C-like directorial effort.

Hangover III:

I was dragged to this by a bunch of friends. I wasn't looking forward to it because I couldn't stand either of the first two movies (even though only one was really made, I and II are exactly the same, just set in different locations). This one isn't a retread of the first two, but it's still awful in a different way. It's not so much a comedy as a some sort of half-baked action-thriller. Ed Helms looks like he was constantly doped up on Robitussin the entire film and in general, there was a sort of mean-spiritedness and resignation that really made the entire film a chore to sit through. Thank God this series is over. The original Hangover is one of the most overrated movies ever made. For those who loved it, go back and watch it again and see if you find it as funny as you did when it originally came out.

I understand how you feel for sure, but the two most recent movies are some of the best reviewed in the series. I loved Fast Five

That White House Down movie looks like full-blown Amurrica being attacked explosion porn, and I couldn't be more excited to see it.

what's the point of hating on the Fast & the Furious movies? if you think they are too dumb to watch, they probably aren't for you anyway.

I go into every movie with an open mind. I would have definitely preferred to enjoy it instead of sitting there playing bejeweled on my phone for an hour and a half.

Was thinking of taking Friday the 14th off to go see Man of Steel. Not the Thursday/Friday midnight show but the Friday morning at 11:30AM show. What are my chances of avoiding a crowd since most people will be at work and stuff? A friend and I were discussing this and thinking about doing it to avoid such crowds.

Just finished up A View To A Kill. 8 more to go. Technically 9 since I still have to see Skyfall, but it's not in the set.

I have gone to the last two big releases (IM3 and ST:ID) on their first day at the first morning showings in Homestead at Lowe's and both maybe had about 20-30 people in them tops.
