So the news headlines I heard were that the Pacers "assured themselves another game". Has anyone ever heard that said of a team that ties a 7 game series at 2-2?

Conversely, wouldn't they only be assured of another game once they were safely transported to the arena in Miami and primed for tip-off? :pop:

Someone else listens to the bill burr podcast :scared: I was cracking up when he was talking about the Pens and specifically why he doesn't like Crosby.

I put it on every so often. It was pretty funny hearing him talk about the hockey as well. The way he described Geno was hilarious.

Paraphrasing

Then you got this Geno Malkin (I can't pronounce his real name yevgenev or evgeni or whatever) and he's on the same team as the best player in the world and he might be the best player in the world and anyone else would have a huge ego and he just doesn't give a ****, just give me the puck and I'll score, no **** given.

No hockey tonight, so might as well watch Pacers-Heat.

Go Pacers, of course.

Three players (including Lebron James) were fined a measly $5,000 for non-stop flopping. It makes the action quite difficult to watch.

It's a shame the NBA is more popular than the NHL, because the NHL product is so, so much better (especially the postseason).

True.

But my main gripe with the NBA is the utter lack of parity. The Western Conference Finals ended up a 4-0 sweep by San Antonio, and Memphis never even challenged. Granted, the ECF is at 2-2 right now, but I'd say there is a 98% shot that Miami will win the next two games.

It's hard to understate how different the gap is between 1 and 8 in the NBA and the NHL.

Because teams rely on only 6 or 7 players, the individual can make a much bigger difference than in other team sports. Just think what it did to the Bulls when Jordan decided to pursue a career in baseball. And what it did to them when he returned.

Very true. In basketball, it's pretty much a requirement to have a marquee superstar to contend for a title.

See: Cleveland Cavaliers with Lebron James.

Also awesome, I get to see the word "haters" thrown around on twitter all night now because people had the nerve to want these arrogant a-holes to lose. We just all haters.

you expected the heat to win by 20 based on how everyone else on the heat played for six games?
