Was surprised that it is so far out there, basically a block from the Washington County line, but worth it since I live sort of close. Will go back. My wife ordered a veggie burger which was probably the only palatable veggie burger I've ever tasted.

I hope they get a liquor license soon or are able to become successful enough to move into a bigger space/area occupied by a former restaurant. The Damons on Rt 50 comes to mind or one of the vacant properties along 88 across from the Wal Mart by the Mitsubishi dealer.

It's not advertised well, but it is BYOB. I was talking to the owner one day, and he was looking at opening up places in Southpointe and Wexford. Not sure what ever happened with that.

Anyhow, the seafood was fresh, but they threw a ton of black pepper and salt on everything which made it overbearing. Maybe it was just the meal I got (broiled seafood combo). I'm going to try another entree from there and see what happens.

i didnt know the damons closed. ill be.

side note: the old mexico's in wash, pa and belle vernon, pa are the same way...their other stores are in alabama or somewhere similarly random.

I dont know of any Damon's left. The one in Peters Twp didn't even last a year. The Pleasant Hills one, not much longer.

The closest Damon's now is in State College. The others (Pleasant Hills, Peters Twp, Monroeville, Waterfront) have all closed

That one in state college has been around since at least 07. It does decent business.

My team took our new intern to lunch today @ Winghart's.

Didn't feel in the mood for a typical burger. I opted for the Beretta Veggie burger, and it was awesome. Interesting patty made of portabello mushroom and falafel. Topped with an avocado spread, greens, feta cheese, kalamata olives and roasted red peppers.

Definitely recommend it.

The one in State College has been there forever. Isn't there a Damon's on the North Shore (it might be called something else)?

I had the veggie and the chorizo. I thought the veggie was amazing, the chorizo was an ok. I should have got the brisket but was not feeling a $7 taco last night. If they would have taken cards i probably would have, but I get fussy when I have to use an atm like that and went with dinner on the cheap. Those are the best tortillas i think I have ever had though.

Has anyone tried the Pittsburgh BBQ Company in Delmont? It's always closed after my games at Center Ice. I'd like to stop by and see what they have.
