I'm sure Gaucho secretly wishes for the return of Don Jackson who's been coaching in Germany lately :pop:

I had forgotten he was the Penguins' assistant coach.

KCs former staff has fared well:

Troy Ward is the head coach of Flames AHL affiliate, and is rumored to be promoted in a few years. He was ECHL coach of the year in 2001

Don Jackson who was an assistant in the NHL for several years, has won 5 champions during the past six years in Germany, and a European trophy.

Mike Eaves won world junior championship in 2004 as a head coach, then frozen four in 2006 and lost in finals in 2010 for the NCAA title. He's the head coach of University of Wisconsin.

Only Rick Kehoe has disappeared and last I heard of him, he was a scout for some other organization.

Constantine himself, who fared well with Sharks and the Penguins given circumstances, won NAHL championship in 2002, broke record for best season ever by a first-year team in major junior hockey leagues (Everett Silvertips, WHL), won U.S. division championship, won three straight playoff rounds and claimed Western Conference Championship, but lost in finals. He was named coach of the year in 2004. (He's also previously been runner up for Jack Adams Trophy in the NHL, and won commissioner's award in 1991). In 2007 he was named head coach of Houston Aeros of AHL. Completely turned them around, and reached Western Conference finals in 2009. He's now coaching in Switzerland (Richard Park plays on his club).

Why do I now feel Bylsma isn't going to get fired at all? Lol

Have this weird feeling he isn't.

I actually think that Torts would be a great fit as Pens coach. If nothing else, you get great comedic value.

That's the difference between Steven Wright and Al Kinason.

Both comedians, just different schticks.

I dunno, Byslma is a funny guy himself with the force field theory. I guess Rask used one of his Call of Duty Perks

Me too. At least it will give us something to argue over next season. At this point, I'd rather keep Fleury than Bylsma.

I agree, its a weird feeling, like Shero won't want to admit he made a mistake.

Vs Philly last year should of been a wake up call to Shero about Dan. This season should be a fire alarm!!! Hey this guy can't get the job done.

The new head coach has to be someone that........

Is able to adapt on a moments notice. Ego and pride are meaningless when a certain system is being shut down and has no problem making REAL adjustments outside of just scratching or dressing a player.

This team has enough talent and Shero makes sure every year this team has a good of a chance to win it all as any other team. A traffic cone could get this talent into a top eight standing and make the playoffs. I really believe that this team is so talented with just the top two in Crosby and Malkin that a vacant bench could still get them into the playoffs.

It would be nice if the coach wasn't afraid to poke those stars in the side a little bit when it is needed.

Judging from the things he said today, I don't think he's going anywhere, which extremely dampers my enthusiasm for next year. Teflon Dan behind the bench and the Human Sieve re-assumes his role as number 1, awesome. :? :face:

He hasn't met with Shero yet, so whatever he said today means little.

Do you honestly think that they haven't been in contact at all since Friday night?

I actually agree with you. He's had to have chatted with him.

His comments today so sound like he's coming back. Dear lord this could be a devastating offseason.

I think it's totally possible/Plausable that they've deferred all hockey business related discussions until tomorrow morning, yes.

I don't think Shero's met with ownership yet. My guess is they will meet Monday, we will hear rumblings from Dreger/Mckenzie on Tuesday indicating what's likely to happen one way or the other, and formal announcement is made at wednesdays presser
