Metallica plays lots of covers at their shows, usually Misfits or Danzig. Well not a lot but they used to do one or two most of the time.

Am I Evil on now. I think that's my favorite Metallica song. Well it's a cover, but they made fantastic covers!

I love the riff in Am I Evil, the part right after the opening drum part... It's just so chuggy and heavy. Also Battery which is the last song of this show is also performed awesomely. They were at their live peak from like 88-91. Not that they are a bad live show, but I really wish I was born about 10 years earlier. I didn't seem them live till like 1996 or so.

Can't help it I was born in 83 and not 73. Kill Em All came out the year I was born. I still credit my best friend to this day getting me into Metallica. He brought over a tape of Justice that we listened to on my grandmas porch. From that day forward Metallica was my favorite band. When I saw them in 96 I was only in the 7th grade. Was quite the concert though.

Honestly, that early Thrash period in the early-late 80's was amazing. All the shows and the bands. You did miss out.

Check out this band. This is Sabbat. One of my favorite bands from that time. I think they still play, actually. Listen to the singer... OMG... the dude barks like a rabid dog and it's music to my ears. England's best Thrash band to this day probably. Full concert and worth watching from start to finish if you like this music.

bow down to the masters... :P

I saw them during the Damaged Justice tour in '88, arguably at their peak. I still wish I had seen Cliff though.

The Seattle DVD from Live S*** Binge and Purge is from 89 and probably the best live performance caught on video I've ever seen. It's absolutely flawless.

I agree that Seattle show is amazing. Perfect setlist before all the black album stuff too. Just great stuff.

I agree the pinnacle of Metallica live (when Lars gave a damn) was 86-91. Although I'd still see them anytime they roll through PGH. I just wish they would do a no hits tour or a rotating setlist that would change nightly.

I think it's funny that Lou re-joined Dinosaur after all of those years, in light of such tributes to his ex-bandmate:

This Mark Lanegan song is incredible. You would be a better person if you listened to it.
