Im talking rotating as in you might not hear the hits, ala what Pearl Jam does on a nightly basis.

Has anyone who lives in Pittsburgh heard about this?

http://www.thenorthsidechronicle.com/mu ... n-in-july/

I'm just trying to gauge whether this thing is being advertised at all? Basically a huge local outdoor music festival on the northside next month. I only know about it cause i know someone playing....I feel like they're just relying on the bands to spread word of mouth....and in that case they're all just telling the same people.

Or like the Grateful Dead used to do. You never knew what they were going to play at any given show. Definitely makes it more interesting.

I wish we could get some variety spare a couple new songs on the upcoming Sabbath tour (which I'll be roadtrippin to Detroit for) but unfortunately because Ozzy's voice is no longer what it once was, he can't pull off over half the great songs they recorded in the 70s. Regardless, as many times as I've seen them, I'll happily watch/listen to them perform the likes of Paranoid, Into the Void, Snowblind, etc for the 5th time and love every second of it.

Snowblind has always been a favorite. Ever hear the system of a down version?

Rancid coming to Pittsburgh in September as well as The Killers and Sigur Ros. All in the same week. Boom.

Edit: Geeze. The setlist is like straight ...And Out Come the Wolves. Only Bloodclot from Life Won't Wait??? Man, not getting to see Lady Liberty or 1998 live will be a great regret.

Oh yeah, that's the one I meant as being in the same week as Rancid and the Killers. Sigur Ros is the following week. Stage AE ftw.

Since Saves the Day was brought up here, they've come up again twice in very different arenas of my life. So I subsequently redownloaded Through Being Cool and Stay What You Are. Rocks Tonic Juice Magic is one of the best pop punk sounding songs ever.

Probably one of the most vicious modern thrash bands I've heard. Very impressed with this album.

Almost considered coming down but have a race in the morning. The last time I drove to one with a hangover (which was also an almost 3 hr drive btw), it was bad times.

I like the new Sigur Rós record a lot. There is something that is simultaneously very foreign but also very familiar about this record. I think it is probably their most "rock" album in so much as any Sigur Rós album can be truely "rock". It leaves me wanting longer songs and more of them. I was afraid the keyboardist leaving would negatively impact this record but it hasn't really hurt them. I wasn't too impressed with Valtari (their last record).

You most definitely must have some pretty solid chops to be playing some Avenged Sevenfold. I never had the legs for metal drumming -- just couldn't get the double-bass consistency going. Probably why I naturally gravitated to more jazz/funk stuff

Pennywise is coming to Altar Bar in about three weeks. Even better, it's with Lindberg and not the replacement singer that they had for a year or two.

http://www.songkick.com/concerts/166948 ... -altar-bar

$20? I'm in...and that's one more band I can scratch off of my short list of bands that I wanted to see live.
