i think there is a 100 percent chance he signs in Montreal. For a lot of money.

Good thing too because SOMEONE will overpay him and i'd rather have him eating salary on an East team we will see in the the playoffs. He's not anything like he used to be - still a good player but not for the kind of money he'll get.

Tweet from philly ; flyer folks met with Vinny Lecavalier's agent over the weekend.
I think he is use to the eastern conference travel; wings or canadians.

I hope he signs a 5 year or so deal with Philly for a dumb amount.

I think he signs that 1 year deal he is said to be looking for and is back in Tampa on a 3 year deal in 2014-2015.

Supposedly Anaheim is out because the asking price for Vinny is 5 years $25MM....

$5M per seems pretty reasonable.

I don't understand why Tampa bought out him rather than Malone

Cause Lecavalier would have been on the books at a higher cap hit for more years.

I'm having a hard time seeing him end up anywhere other than Detroit or Montreal.

Only other option would be Philly on an absurd contract (7 yrs 40 million or something out of control)

I'm leaning toward Detroit though, and I think he's a great fit there.

I would love to see him sign some stupid contract in Philly.

I don't think Holmgren looks past one year when doing contracts.

He is in for a shocker when he sees Giroux, Schenn, and Couturier are all RFA next summer.

I thought I heard his visit with Philly was extremely short. Not sure if that means anything in the end.

I'm interested to see what Philly does in net. The FA list is pretty ugly, i'm guessing they'll end up with either Nabokov or Thomas, or else trade for Miller.

They probably should have kept Bryz for one more year - I think buying him out was a huge mistake

RFA goalies = Rask, Markstrom, Bernier. Can't forget the Flyers willingness to try poaching RFAs

Flyers will be in position to have cap space next year when Kimo retires. I think they will trade Coburn and Mezaros to free up more. Of course Holmgren is one of the biggest idiot GM's in the league and could sign a bunch of 35+ players to high dollar long term contracts on July 6th.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 3m 5 years, $4.5 per for Vinny in Philly confirmed.
Tim Panaccio ‏@tpanotchCSN 3m Source says 5 year $23.5 mill for Lecavalier as a Flyer. checking on that

welcome to the neighborhood Vinny!

as always, follow the money. :D

Giroux will get signed by summers end for ~8.5 for 8 years. Schenn and Couturier are more interesting but they control their rights in any event. If I were them id keep couturier and trade schenn for help on the blue line or in net.

So, they dump one semi-washed up old guy (Briere) for another semi-washed up old guy (Lecavalier). Makes perfect Philly sense. Always chasing the name.

Apparently gave Vinny a full no movement clause in his 5 year deal. I'm going to love watching the fans chew him up when he doesn't produce! His numbers have gone down consistently the past few seasons.

Good deal IMO, signing him to a Kunitz like deal? He's still productive when healthy
