Yes 5 losses in 7 games is surely the beginning of a 3 month long collapse. Remember when we lost 2 of 3 to the reds and got swept by the braves last month? Then climbed to 21 over? It's a long season. Teams get cold. They'll get warm again. I seem to remember saying this after the Dodgers series in early April.

As a person who was 12 when the pirates last won, after watching so many loses, after being toyed with 20 year...im allowed to be cynical.

Easy evening at the office for the A's, save for Pedro's HR.

Yeah I really think no one should be ripped for being nervous. This offense is at rock bottom right now.

Glad we have them to bring off the bench, it would be a shame if we actually had some players on the bench who could pose a threat to the regulars.

people criticized others for worrying about a collapse last year too. people have the right to worry. i think the altoona curve would get more than 2 hits

Lol

They have decent enough bats in LF CF 3B and C and SS are okay for the defense. They have 1/2 bats at 2B 1B and 3B. There's no depth and it's too easy to pitch around guys. A couple of decent bats wont make them the 27 Yankees but it will make a difference.

Yes, they need a RF and/or SS who can hit.

Going out and trading for a utility guy is not going to make the starting lineup hit the ball any better.

They can get several platoon type guys without giving up the future. They might get one solid bat but it will come at a very high price.

Last year the pitching fell off. That was pretty much foreseen by everyone. The pitching the year isn't going anywhere, and while the offense isn't great, they're not getting held to two hits every night either. I don't know, I don't blame fans for being a little skeptical, but we're about to be 17 games over 500 after the worst stretch of the season. A couple losses and this place just gets brutal.

this is actually a fact. my uncle is good friends with wally bell and my uncle told me wally admits that pitchers love him for his big strike zone. why? wally wants the game to be over.
