Doesn't mean he won't be on the team... just less likely. Gonna have to set the world on fire the first 2-2.5 months of the season if he wants to go to Sochi.

Why would someone who can't keep a starting job be considered for the Olympics?
He has other things to worry about.

I would but not until the biggest jokes (one coaching the team) and the other (a must have/keep) are gone.

Kunitz can play the bottom-6 and can penalty kill. No need in rolling out 4 all-star, offensive lines.

Lots of guys fit that profile in the players listed as invited to orientation. Small number of those players have a release like James Neal.

Large number can create a lot better than him 1 on 1.

Which him? Applies to both...

Doughty-Weber
Keith-Seabrook
Pietrangelo-M. Staal
Subban

Letang

Subban can do everything Letang does and he actually plays defense.. so kind of makes that selection redundant. He also has a pest side to his game which is lacking with any other player on the back end.

Crosby will be 1st line center and Captain, the rest won't make the team.. just too deep.

St. Louis-Crosby-Stamkos
Nash-Tavares-Giroux
E. Staal-Toews-Perry
Bergeron-Getzlaf-M. Richards
Duchene, Hall

Nash gets left off. He sucked in '10 and has been terrible since.

Letang 100%?

Weber, Doughty, Seabrook, Keith, Staal, Pietrangelo, Subban, Bouwmeester, Campbell, Boyle, Methot, Hamhuis, etc

I honestly think Bouwmeester will make the team, just a gut feeling. He was caught in a bad situation in Calgary, with a bad contract that made him look worse. He was much better once he went to St. Louis.

The problem lies in the fact that Yzerman and Babcock both like a balance of RH and LH shots on the blueline. This will play heavily into their decision making when selecting the team. Boyle, Doughty, Weber, Seabrook are all returnees that shoot right. Subban, Letang, and Pietrangelo all shoot right.

While I think Letang has a good chance of making the team, he's certainly NOT 100%.

..and Fleury is a better choice?

Why does anyone feel sorry for Fleury? He's stunk, it's his own fault. It's not like he's being screwed over!

Right now, I take Price over Fleury everyday of the week, and twice on Sundays.

No one cares whether you like Bylsma or not, it's just the fact that you feel the need to find a way to work it into every single thread on this forum in the most monotonous, unoriginal way.

Also, I wish my dad was head coach of the Penguins. It'd cut down on my ticket costs.

Well, tell your dad to accept some responsibility and quit blaming things on "bad puck luck" force fields, letting players take 100% of the blame, not being able to "get to their game". Not always going to the "2 headed monster line" when the going gets tough and maybe I wouldn't be as tough on him.

It's infallible. :D

Seriously, though, I get Fleury's fall from grace, but I'd take him over price any day. Even with Fleury's recent playoff performances he's outperformed Price. I'm not saying Fleury is worthy of a spot on the Olympic team, but I am saying that Price isn't.

It's as valid as the original argument you stated.

I don't think either really deserve to be on the Olympic squad - there are 3 goalies more deserving, easily.
