Yes, you can retain them. Your team value will go over 100 but that is allowable as long as you were under when you assembled the team. At least that's how I understand it.

I have no idea how the points are calculated.

Go tell the Spartans are running away a bit, but nicely competitive so far.

You probably still can, you'll just be behind on two weeks worth of points and many of the pre-season bargains will cost more now. Accept the challenge if you wish.

My team at this point....

Team value: 98.27
Actual Market value: 120.86

That's obviously where you want to be, but it also discourages more than a move or two a week.

It might have been interesting if Yahoo set it so that you could, for example, sell Dzeko at his market value (15.19) rather than what you paid (9.90).
You'd be less likely to sit on the same roster....Though I don't really want to sell him. :pop:

Anyway, thanks for setting this up Tersester.

That's crazy. I'm at 115.84. I agree with you though, this style of fantasy game is much more fun when you can pocket the increase in value. Smallworld -- the original source of fantasy sports for me -- did this, and it was so, so fun. They based their price fluctuations strictly on player movement, though, not on stats -- I think Yahoo! might do it based on some combination of both or just on stats, not sure, though.

I picked up three transferees looking for sharp increases and only got it with one - Adebayor - but he launched up over $3 based upon his one week.

An oddly low scoring week for all.
I've already done some reshuffling, but it's a long season ahead.

Yeah, a crazy week. I couldn't believe I moved up in the overall rankings with such a low score. There were some very strange results this week.

So we should look at putting this together over the next couple of weeks. I have created LGP Fantasy Futbol leagues in both Yahoo!: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/fantasy/p ... eague/home (Group ID: 749 Password: 2dd78s8) and Fantasy Premier League: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ (League code: 386245-99580).

I am not sure which site people would rather use. The games are set up fairly similarly. Seems like Yahoo! has made some changes this year to make things more like FPL.

I could really go either way (or both to see which we like better?) on the site. If you guys want to go play around with the sites, try to join the league, see what features you like/don't like report back and maybe we can settle on one over the other.

I've only dabbled in fantasy sports before, so it might very well be the case that I'm an idiot when it comes to figuring these things out, but here are my thoughts on both sites so far:

1.) I tried to create an account for the Fantasy Premier League site, but so far, I haven't gotten the e-mail with the link to click to confirm registration. I did like all the different things they counted towards a player's points for any given game.

2.) I was able to log into the Yahoo site easily with my google ID and join the LGP league. I liked Yahoo's suggested team names for me and tentatively went with Sporting Large. However, I can't find their breakdown of the points system anywhere.

I have time to watch the games this year - unlike two years ago, when I had to drop out - so I say ye on a Yahoo league.

Does this mean we're leaning towards the FPL site then? I still never got a confirmation e-mail from them, but I can try again.

Doesn't really matter to me, I don't think. I get the sense that the FPL site has greater numbers than Yahoo!, but I did read an article saying that Yahoo! put a ton of time into revamping their format this year.

FPL seems to be the preference among those responding, though.
