OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES:
Reggie Wayne: 6
Steve Smith / Percy Harvin: 5
Vincent Jackson: 3
Randall Cobb: 3
Anquan Boldin: 2
Marques Colston: 1

Spoiler:
Apparently I'm in a rating mood. I'm curious to find out LGP's top 10 of the glamour positions (wr, rb, qb).

So as a countdown for the NFL season, I'm going to do this.

August 15- 22 open voting on top 10 wrs
August 22- 29 open voting on top 10 rbs
August 29- Sep 5 open voting on top 10 qbs

At end of each of these I'll count up the votes (10 for 1st place, 9 for 2nd, etc)

I'll start

IanMoran's top 10 wr's

10. Victor Cruz
9. Roddy Whte
8. Percy Harvin
7. Andre Johnson
6. Dez Bryant
5. Demaryius Thomas
4. Brandon Marshall
3. AJ Green
2. Larry Fitzgerald - I'm still a believer, wrs depend on their situations more than anyone else. I say he shows us how good he is again this year
1. Calvin Johnson

Man that was TOUGH. Some guys I REALLY struggled to leave off: Julio Jones, Randall Cobb, Vincent Jackson, etc... I imagine this will be the toughest position to rate.

Calvin
Green
Bryant
Marshall
FItz
Andre
Jones
Harvin
Jackson
Thomas

Somewhere about that order, Thomas was the last one I thought of, he should probably jump up to 6-7.

I never thought i'd see a list that lacked Calvin, Green, or Bryant. Pretty clearly all in the top 5 at worst.

I keep waiting to see if anyone will list another player besides Megatron at #1, but I don't see how you can....

Phantom didn't put Dez in

Which to be honest, the only player he has in there over Dez that makes me go  is Boldin... If you replace Boldin with Thomas, I can see the CASE being made for Dez not in top 10 (I don't agree with it, but I can see it). This really is a very hard position to rank

I'm not big on Dez yet, he's talented but in my eyes he has one really good half season (second half of last year) in his career and otherwise barely has a case to be top ten. I'd like to see more than half a good season in three years before I call somebody elite or top ten.

Reasonable explanation IMO, and he's a headcase which could be a concern to some

What makes him a headcase? Guy had a couple problems when he was like 21 and has since apparently been one of the hardest workers in the game and keeps his head down away from the field.

Serious??

2012[edit source | editbeta]
The offseason started with Bryant being charged with misdemeanor family violence because of an incident with his mother. Although with class A misdemeanor domestic violence charges, Bryant was not suspended by the NFL (National Football League) for such actions against his biological mother.

Bryant was sued in March 2011 for $861,350 for legal fees and the cost of jewelry he allegedly took without payment

He's been escorted out of the same mall like 4 times, I'm fairly certain there's been other issues. Something is constantly popping up with him

Oh, sorry. Not 21, 22. None of that points to someone being a headcase by the way. That has to do with him being a troublemaker, and as I addressed in my previous post, he has had his head down for quite a while now. Anything you read or hear about him for the past year and a half is about him either working on his game or specifically not going out because he's focused on the field and doesn't want to create distraction. I hated the guy when the Cowboys drafted him but he has undoubtedly got his head in the right place to be the best there is.

After all the problem, he's the one that the Cowboy literally baby sit full time to keep him out of trouble

– The Dallas Cowboys are trying to provide some guidance for Dez Bryant, the talented young receiver who has had issues off the field.
Coach Jason Garrett wouldn't go into specifics Monday or describe potential discipline for not abiding by the rules, but he said the Cowboys (No. 15 in AP Pro32) want to support Bryant and his family.
"What we've tried to do is come up with a plan for Dez like we would for any player who we feel like needs our support, and help him be his best as a player and as a person," Garrett said. "And the accountability factor is an important part of that with him and with anybody on our football team."
According to numerous reports, Bryant will attend weekly counseling sessions, have a full-time security team and not be allowed to consume alcohol or attend strip clubs. The security members will drive Bryant to team functions, including practices and games, and the receiver will also be subject to a curfew.

He's gotten arrested when he was 23 along with other issues, he's now 24 lol. He's yet to go a full year without something popping up, and its been such an issue the Cowboys employee people just to follow him.

Not saying he's necessary a bad person (may just be immaturity), but to claim that was all ancient history is lol

edit to your edit: Last year and a half?? It was July 2012 he got arrested for beating his mom.

I'll concede your point if he tears up this year and stays out of any trouble. I think Phantom would then put him in his top 10 as well

I'm not saying that he's a bad person, i'm saying that you're more ignorant than I on the issue because you don't read every single thing that comes out about the best player on your favorite team.

The media loves the feel good stories. Do you know how many "Ben's really matured" things came out BEFORE the rape stuff.

That being said, I agree with you. I think Dez is awesome and if I were a betting man, I'd bet on him in a second.

My only point was, its reasonable that phantom didn't put him in the top 10 if he had concerns that his talent may be derailed from other issues

That argument is fine, the argument that he's a "headcase" is absurd though. At no point did that ever even come into question.
