Eh, I don't enjoy having gameplay broken up by cut scenes, regardless of the quality of performance. Which is why I generally stick to online multiplayer or sports games. I miss the days where a one player game wasn't bogged down by story.

Ever played Serious Sam? There's a game that's not bogged down by story.

The awful voice acting from RE1 was part of its charm lol.

Other than sports games, I need a storyline to keep any interest in a game.

So either play the Lego games or try Duke Nukem for mindless shooting. I don't understand the lack of desire for content. Some games recently have a better, more invested story than any movie I've ever seen.

Anyone play the NHL 14 demo yet? Pretty decent, even if it is more of the same.

Finished the Goron Mines and did some exploring in the village at the bottom of Death Mountain. Got the heart container where I had to shoot that pole at the top of the building across the ton on the first try.

As for cutscenes, I dont' mind them if they are done correctly. They get annoying at beginning of games because there are usually a lot more of them.

The only game that I've played that I think over did it was Metroid Other M.

September 20 Wii U price cut and new Zelda bundle for $300 2 weeks before it comes out. Wasn't there a few on here waiting for a price drop?

If it was an actual new Zelda game, and not a remake to make Windwaker HD, then I'd consider it. I still have time before I finish up my Wii games and move onto the Wii U. By then, they may have more of a "core" game launch and it will probably be cheaper.

My PS3 is officially dead and my laptop plays Civ V like crap. Can't find the Beyond the Sword play CD, so I just bought Civ III on Steam for $5. Should have just done some work, but I need to play a game for a while.

After playing for a while, I can highly recommend the Skyrim Immersive Creatures mod. The number and variety of critters and enemies it adds to the game is really amazing. Some of them can be really brutal, but I'm looking for a challenge. For example, there are creatures called Draman that look like human/dragon hybrids than can both use magic and breathe fire, and I just started running into mechanical Dwemer dragons that breathe blasts of scalding steam and conjure spider mechs to help them fight. Even the basic animals have lots of new variants. For example, instead of encountering a single bear, you might run across an angry mother defending several cubs, and I've lost track of the number of new types of wolves in the game. Everything looks great and nothing looks out of place in the game world. This mod is a great example of why I firmly believe that Elder Scrolls games are best played on the PC.

One of the founders of a blog I'm writing for went to the GameStop Expo the other day, and wrote a review of what he saw. He tried out the PS4, Xbox One, Elder Scrolls Online, Battlefield 4, among other games. There's some good info in it.

I'll probably end up getting the XBone, but I'll be waiting until next Christmas to make my decision. In the meantime, NHL14 and Ghosts on 360 will keep me busy.

A youtuber I follow released the 1st part of his Skyrim Machinima movie.

It is amazing! Unreal production quality in every way. Do yourself a favor and watch it. It starts slow, but really picks up towards the end.

If I could grab Uncharted 3 for $10, is it worth it for single player. I haven't played any Uncharted games at all to this point. Does it matter?

For 10$ yes. The 2nd one is still the best in the series, but the 3rd is still one of the better games on the PS3.
