Trying the Brooklyn Lager (Pre-Prohibition style). Good hint of roasted malt before the hops hit. Hop flavor disappears fast, though.

I have a clone of arrogant bastard bottle conditioning currently. I've purchased the parts to build a 3 tap keezer and have a brown ale fermenting as we speak and will be brewing an american pale ale and a pliny the elder clone (just under a pound of hops in this one!) that will all go in kegs and into the keezer so I'll have them on tap. I'll probably bottle a six pack of each.

Elevator Brewing Company Dark Horse Lager:

One of the best lagers I've ever had (though the list is pretty short, and I haven't had Eliot Ness yet). Strong taste of roasted malt on entry that stays and is complimented by a little bit of hop. Just right, in my book.

picked up a Bell's variety case last night for a family get together. Upon arriving home, I noticed the case was opened and 6 picks were switched out with different from what the case displayed.

Bell's Amber - real solid
Third Coast - it was fine, prefer the victory summerfest in that class
Bell's Porter - awesome
2 hearted - always great

Had some Victory Prima Pils at an event last night where Victory had a rep present. They had Prima Pils and Hop Wallop. The dude pouring beers told a girl that Hop Wallop was very fruity "mango and passion fruit." The girl was excited until she tried it. That's a pretty misleading description for a beer novice, even if it is citrusy hops with little pineyness. You should give some heads up on the hops that is going to crush any "fruitiness" for many palates.

been a long time since I've had Troegs. Just picked up a variety case for the weekend:

Dreamweaver Wheat, Sunshine Pils, Pale Ale, Hop Back Amber

Anyone have any of these recently?

Dreamweaver Wheat - Not my favorite style, but a good example of it

Sunshine Pils - I hate pilsners, but this is admittedly good

Pale Ale - Solid and relatively easy drinking

Amber - Absolutely outstanding amber/red ale. My second favorite of theirs behind Nugget Nectar.

i'm a humungous big fan of belgian tripels and quads, so it was the responsible thing for me to do to finally pickup a rochefort 10 to try. hopefully i don't like it, because it's crazy expensive.

If you already are a fan of quads and haven't had it yet you will undoubtedly be a fan.

Bell's Oberon wasn't as tasteful as the people at BA said it would be. Kinda disappointed, but would probably drink it again.

In his defense, it's called Hop Wallop. I would have been very tempted to do the same thing.

I realize that I am somewhat late to this party... But wow, is Unibroue good.

Had 3 of their beers this week and all 3 were excellent.

Currently drinking a Don de Dieu... So good.

Oberon is probably one of the more merely above average Bells offerings.

Unibroue and Ommegang probably have two the best house yeasts of any brewery. Unibroue, in particular has a spice that I love.

I tried Oberon for the first time a week ago, and was similarly disappointed.

Then again, BA could spend three pages talking about the taste of tap waters from different cities.
