Going into the playoffs last year, I just knew it wasn't their year.

This year is different. I'm highly critical of some of their moves, but I think this is their year. I've got the feeling they can do more with less.

This is the first summer for as long as I can remember I have not thought about hockey. My excitement level is about zero.

I'm sure my mind will change once the weather turns but right now, I am not feeling it. That last lockout really messed with my hockey mojo. :face:

The addition of Martin behind the bench will be the difference this year.

Less chance for Bylsma to screw up, and more chance for Martin to give him a clue.

I am definitely ready for hockey. It is great that the Bucs are doing good things and will play into October, but to me personally, baseball can be a very boring snoozefest. Bring on the boys of winter and some exciting hockey. :)

I'm living in Pittsburgh again for the first time in over 10 years (the dark ages of Penguins hockey). Needless to say, I'm pumped to go to games regularly again.

Postby Mr. Colby on Mon Sep 09, 2013 6:05 pm

I'm being a downer, but i'm kind of bummed about this year's team. I think besides the main guys (87/71/58/18), they're too old, they're too soft, and there are too many question marks. And they're too similar.

Losing TK and Cooke and not replacing them with anybody is going to hurt. Those 3rd and 4th lines look really, really bad.

I'm really worried that it's going to be the same old story - get my hopes up by dominating the RS, thinking they're better than they really are, then losing in the playoffs again.

Hope I'm wrong...!

Yes the 3rd and 4th lines look bad, but I'm excited that that means the Pens will actually have some opportunities available for young players to step up.
