Same here. Although I've never actually had a pumpkin beer, so I guess I can't fully agree on that point.

Some people like Pumpkin beers, some people like IPAs, and some people put ketchup on their potato chips.

If your point is that people who like pumpkin beer and IPAs are weirdos, then I am completely on board.

Yeah, I stopped at the beer distributor today (in random spot Lancaster County) and they had four cases of Pumking. 12 22oz. bottles for 75.99

I also can't wait to drink some of the Pumking that's been cellaring for over a year now.

I jumped into a variety of beers this weekend.

Blue Point Pumpkin Ale - meh.
Magic Hat Seance Saison - i could get shmammy'ed of off these.
Shipyard Pumpkinhead - meh.
Batch 19 (Coors) - wasnt terrible.
Sierra Nevada Tumbler - pretty tasty.
Rivertowne Hala Kahiki - would be solid if you poured a splash of pineapple syrup in it. it lacks that sugary, pineapple taste. gonna remember this for next summer's outdoor drinking. might have to make a cocktail in a can with some rum.
a bunch of miller lite 16oz - good year.
more of the bells double cream stout - my liver is soar.

On the cheap beer front:

Not too proud to say that the $1 16 oz of Yuengling are in heavy rotation.

k-nan-kenny the kangaroo tried the batch 19 over the summer at BWW. they were doing like a preview/taste test for the beer. this gentleman thought it tasted like butt.

in related news, kenny the kangaroo tried the following beers at D's this weekend:

Great lakes elliot ness: this seems to be a big hit on lgp.com and it was a pretty good beer. certainly one of the more enjoyable lagers aht there.

green flash east village pilsner-apparently d's got a bunch of kegs of beer from this outfit based out of san diego. it was meh. not great, not bad. probably would not drink again. but wouldnt discourage it.

he'brew messiah nut brown ale-this was the first time this gentleman ever heard of this outfit out of saratoga new york, and was pleased with this beer. helltown has a gr8 brown ale and the messiah matched up pretty well

as an aside, choclate theemed beers never taste choclatey.

k-nan already had a selection of random brews in his tummy at the time so his t'buds may have been in a misleading state at the time.

duly noted. it seemed like they were trying to do way too much with way too many flavors for it and it just didnt work. thats something that is possible to miss after drinking a few.

They tried to make it hoppy, but you could still taste the same old piss flavor of Coors.

I have strangely similar tastes to shemnguin aside from the pumpkin issue. I also dislike IPAs. Just unpleasant to drink, and aggressively so.

I had two big bottles of Helltown Spiteful Saison at Hal's on Saturday afternoon before some additional festivities thereafter. $10 for those things might present the best beer bargain in town.

Farmhouse Ales/Saisons may be the best balance of light/heavy beers for me. i wont begin to venture i know that much about the hops/malt meat-stroking i read on the reviews on beeradvocate, but i really dig em.

outside of them, its pilseners and hefes for me. the rest is just too much for me to say i really "enjoyed" it.
