No! He's not allowed to give up any goals! EVER! Not even if there is a fire!

I know it's not happening under Bylsma, but I'm curious if Jacques Martin would support giving Malkin time on the pk. Anyone know if he tends to use his stars?

Thank you... This is exactly what my friends new relationship is like, and the Fleury analogy will help!

Showing up to camp out of shape has been unacceptable for a long time now. This isn't the 80s.

Crosby pancaked Adams in the corner.... Glad it wasn't the other way around. CF'nA is going to have a career year (no idea why, just cause). He'll top the 10 goals he had in 2005-06 all due to that Crosby pancaking on scrimage 1, day 1!!!! Mark it.

Brian Metzer (SP?) said on the radio yesterday that the Pens will send Despres down when the season starts because he is so out of shape. They will bring him back up, but they are not happy with the way he reported.

Take it for what it is worth.

I don't understand how it's possible for a professional athlete to arrive to camp out of shape. All you have to do is hit the weight room, bike, or ice for an hour or two a day.

if a guy has already "made it", i can see how he'd come into camp out of shape. if i had some contract that meant i was set for life, and i had to choose between working out all summer and going on a lavish european vacation with my family, and spending valuable time with my young kids, i 'd be tempted to choose the latter.

but a guy like depres, who is still trying to establish himself, should be a gym rat right now. with that said, i don't put any stock into what local muckrakers are tweeting about him

Its unacceptable for anyone to fall out of shape. People have been tearing Ovechkin apart for the last couple of years for the perception that he wasn't taking care of himself. It doesn't matter if you're the highest paid player in the game or a rookie. Today its something that can't happen.

Despres inability to show up to camp in shape could be a possible reason (amongst other factors) as to why he can't hold down a regular spot in the lineup. He's simply not conditioning properly, which leads to inconsistent play.

I think we should launch an investigation to see if Bylsma is keeping him locked in a room during the offseason to prevent him from staying in shape so he doesn't have to play him since we all know Bylsma doesn't like him.

He figured he wasn't going to get ice time anyways so why not fork in a little extra over the summer.

No more stretch passes?

Blysma:
"Defensively, there are a few adjustments that we're going to add to our scheme … and I think we have to look at a transition to offense in the neutral zone a little bit differently."

I was all for firing Blysma, but I like what I'm hearing from him so far this season. I imagine J Martin is whispering a little in his ear.

Exactly, Martin will be the driving force behind most changes as we know Bylsma likes to "stick to the system".

I too was for firing Bylsma, but I honestly believe the Martin hiring might be the best move they could have made if they didn't fire him.

Am I correct in assuming that this season, any positive coaching changes will be the result of J. Martin and anything bad will be Byslma's fault?

I think its safe to assume that any changes at all will be a result of Martin.
