I'm actually really excited for this. Being from Detroit, I don't get a ton of chances to see the Pens.. and on my birthday none the less!

^ This, if they don't allow the players to go I will be pissed. I also wouldn't blame the Russian players for going regardless.

A planned outdoor game would probably consitute the official RIP of the blue Jerseys. This also tells me the Black and Yellow 3rds will be debuted for such a game.

It just went from being a cool event (because of the once a year rarity, special day on New Years where the whole fam can get together and watch etc) to just another ho hum thing for the sponsors, not the fans. This isn't about doing something good for the people who watch the sport, to welcome hockey back from the Olympics (as if any real fan will miss olympic hockey for 2 weeks), its aout plastering advertisments everywhere and putting 24/7 coverage of the 'charade' on NHLN for 2 weeks straight. Factor in the almost guaranteed **** hockey that is a byproduct, especially that game in SoCal, and I'm just not into it. It went from being special, to meh.

For what tickets cost me to sit in the nosebleeds for the WC, I'll likely never go to an outdoor game again, because the actual hockey viewing part of it sucked. Atmosphere was cool, great to say you were there, party and tailgate before, but it will definately lose something when theres 6 a year.

I was just there March 28th... it was 22 degrees.

It's been colder than Pittsburgh's winter classic recently. Needless to say, I'm freaking pumped about this!!!

I'm pretty sure that's what the Winter Classic always was about, ultimately.

Probably a good bet that they'll wear early 90's Stanley Cup era uniforms as their next third jerseys. Will people finally stop complaining about the uniforms?

As Penguin fans we should kind of be happy for this. This brings in a lot more revenue, meaning a better salary cap. So we can afford to keep more players.

Got a mailer yesterday regarding special on-sales for STHs for this game, everyone has special times when you can access and look at available seats and pricing. But I'd like to know the various pricing levels ahead of time - anyone know what pricing is? Not sure if STH price is any different.

I attended the Detroit - Chicago Classic at Wrigley a few years ago, and I'll probably attend this one as well. I aniticipate more great fetivities, a fun atmosphere, and absolute confusion during the game when I'm sitting too far away to hear the whistle.

The seating in renovated Soldier Field is awesome. The sight lines blow away almost any other stadium. The 200 and 300 levels are awesome.

Not sure what rooms are left, but I am booked at the Best Western which is only 3/4 mile from Soldier Field. That is the closest hotel to the stadium.

Congrats on the tickets. I am thinking myself of going for the $139 seats, but will have to see what is left come Thursday for me. I for sure don't want any higer then $179 per ticket.

I went 300 level sidelines at $179 a ticket. I think the view will be fantastic.

Meh, after my rotten experience at the Winter Classic, I'll pass. I'm not one to sit outside and brave the elements for anything. Even hockey.

Before the Winter Classic here in Pittsburgh, I had a co worker say to me, how cold it willl be (before we knew what the weather was going to do) to watch a game outdoors in January. Dummy happened to be a STH for the Steelers. He didnt use his head when he said that to me. Haha

I think they must have sold out those. I tried to select the those but it only gave me end zone tickets. Sec 219 Row 6. Got the normal Ticket master fess along with $10 shipping. Comes to about $195 per ticket.

I was rained on most of the night. Stuck in an endzone. The cushion was soaking wet, so I ended up sitting on a damned bench.

I'll go to Chicago and watch it in a nice, dry bar.
