I think Fleury will rebound from this...

But if he doesn't, and Hartzell doesn't suddenly light the world on fire, I'm talking to Anaheim about one of Fasth or Hiller. Both are quality goalies. But the real gem over in Anaheim is John Gibson. He's going to be making one of those guys expendable very quickly.

In todays nhl its not at all a stretch to say that the defenseman's number one job is to transition the flow of play to offense. Thats why the defenseman that can make a good outlet pass or carry the puck out of thezone is most covetted.

Defensmen aren't responsible for stopping the goalie from putting the puck into his own net twice a game, regardless of how they play otherwise...

Yep, right off the end board, then off the goalie's butt, and into the net.

I believe fleury is not in espn's list of the top 25 goalies because he is not good enough to get in espn's list of the top 25 goalies.

I'm gonna say right now I'm not so sure he should be in the top 16. But 25 is kinda absurd.

It's going to be really interesting to see how he does this year in the regular season and playoffs. If he falters again, either we are shopping for a new goalie or he's taking a smaller salary.
