Not good, I was expecting TV to steal the starting job after the first two weeks.

All the best to him, get well so you can come back and give us some quality goaltending.

In 2006 he was diagnosed with a similar blood clot on April 10...he didn't get clearance to resume activity until July 24.

wish him well and hopefully he recovers as quickly as possible.

For the time being and I know this is secondary compared to Vokoun's medical issue, it temporarily puts the salary cap issue to the side.

Happy for Tomas it was found and disolved today.

*edit, I see E Friedman is saying the pelvis was the location of the clot?

Do we get to see what Hartzell's made of?

Or will Shero give Bryzgalov a ring?

Zatkoff is #2 for now, per Shero.

Shero said as far as he knows, Vokoun's blood clot didn't travel (i.e. to lung/brain) and Drs are happy w/procedure to dissolve.

Right, forgot they signed him. He's paid his dues and should definitely get a look at some games. I guess Fleury though will be given every opportunity to work his issues out...

Doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota cleared Vokoun on Monday after reviewing his status. The blood clots that kept Vokoun from finishing last season and put him on three months of blood thinners likely resulted from a childhood accident.

Vokoun said the blood clots didn't grow or get smaller with the blood thinners.

"That's basically the sign of being an old blood clot turning into scar tissue and growing into the side of the veins in your stomach, which is part of my anatomy right now. It's just something you just live with. Your body finds different ways to fix broken stuff inside you," Vokoun said.

Vokoun was only 10 months old when he grabbed a tablecloth, dumping hot coffee on himself. The blood clot is in his right groin, near where doctors inserted a catheter during his treatment as a baby.

Healing to Tomas.

this is not good. it seems like Shero isn't that happy with MAF's work off ice in the offseason or his play in camp thus far either. that's what i get out of his comments anyways.

i took it more as "Fleury will have to step up, because we don't have a viable alternative" more than "Fleury needs to step up, because he stinks"

Maybe he's recluctant to praise MAF, because MAF doesn't respond well to being praised.

First and foremost, all the best in health to TV. Clots are hella scary.

On the Pens front, might be a good time to give Jose Theodore a PTO. I am confident in Fleury for the regular season, he did fairly well last season. That being said, he can't play 70+ games, Theodore is good for at least 20 if TV can't come back.

This is some seriously terrible news. We have one goalie with brain damage and the other with a blood clot. Total buzzkill. Hope for a quick recovery.
