In college I read Giap's People's Army and wrote a long paper comparing his troops at Dien Bien Phu to Stonewall Jackson's "foot cavalry."

People's Army is a great read.

I have no idea how they feel, but I'll never forgive her for those 1980's era workout videos.

Scott Carpenter has passed away. John Glenn is now the sole surviving member of the Mercury 7 astronauts.

Didn't realize this until today, but the Mercury 7 were the only group of astronauts with members that flew on all classes of manned orbital spacecraft NASA operated in the 20th century.

Ed Lauter looked kinda sickly on The Office last year.

My favorite role for him was the jerk FBI agent in The Rocketeer.
